Viewers left horrified and unable to finish horror offbeat movie Rosemary’s Baby amid film comeback

“It’s even more disturbing now!” Fans Admit They Can’t Finish Roman Polanski’s Gothic Horror Rosemary’s Baby After Surprising Social Media Resurgence

Viewers were horrified and unable to finish the iconic gothic horror cult Rosemary’s Baby – as the film is making a huge comeback on social media.

The offbeat 1968 cult film directed by disgraced director Roman Polanski was ranked at Forbes as the second best classic horror of all time, right after Hitchcock’s Psycho.

Mia Farrow stars as Rosemary Woodhouse, a young mother who is forced to give birth to the devil’s son – after being abused, drugged and tortured by a satanic cult, who will eventually try to steal her baby.

Since the freaky movie had a major resurgence recently, people took to social media to comment on how disturbing the movie is.

One user wrote on Twitter, “To this day I can’t watch Rosemary’s Baby. It drives me crazy.’

Rosemary’s baby. Just disturbing,’ said another.

Another user added, “Rosemary’s Baby, now even more disturbing.”

Another user joined the conversation and wrote: “Yeah Rosemary’s baby is still a very disturbing movie. After watching it again I can see that Ari Aster used it as inspiration for Hereditary, maybe I think it’s Satan- stuff generally scary.”

Despite the magic spells and witchcraft elements, it’s the terrifying depiction of reality that still makes Polanski’s cult of horror so horrifying to viewers.

The offbeat film made a resurgence at a time when abortion rights are at the center of societal debate — as it depicts the stark reality of forced pregnancy.

Mia Farrow impressively illustrates the emotional anguish and complexities as she is manipulated and abused by her husband Guy – played by John Cassavetes – and the rest of the cult, while pregnant.

The actress perfectly brings to life the character of an isolated woman under constant siege – which is what makes the horror movie terribly real.

Forbes described the film’s “depiction of paranoia and the occult” as a seminal element in the history of the horror genre, with several modern horror directors “seeing Rosemary’s Baby as an inspiration.”

Fans of the movie remembered the awkward moment in 2018 when Kate Middleton wore a remarkably similar red dress to the iconic one worn by Mia Farrow in the film – when she stepped out of the Lindo Wing with little Prince Louis.

One user commented, “Kate Middleton rocking the same dress as Rosemary from Rosemary’s Baby is definitely not awkward…”

As if that wasn’t disturbing enough, the very similar red dress with an embroidered white collar was worn in a scene where Rosemary feels her baby move inside her for the first time after difficulties during her early pregnancy.
