Taylor Swift's journey to Foxborough, Massachusetts is being documented and shared worldwide – even by the team Swift opposes.

The official New England Patriots team Twitter account sent out a video of Swift — wearing a Kansas City Chiefs hat and looking at her new boyfriend Travis Kelce — as she sat and watched the game unfold.

That didn't sit well with some Patriots fans — they were left surprised and annoyed that their team would share footage of a fan cheering for the other team, no matter how famous she is.

When her image was shown on the jumbotron during the game, a mix of boos and cheers erupted from the crowd in a stadium she knows well.

But the reaction from the team's fans was overwhelmingly negative; many asked for the post to be removed.

The Patriots' official Twitter account made an odd choice by posting a video of Taylor Swift

Swift was at Gillette Stadium to cheer on friend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs

“Hey @Patriots and @GilletteStadium,” one fan wrote, “You should be watching @taylorswift13 at concerts, not football games!”

Another account said bluntly: “Have a little shame.”

'SOFT! Fire the social media person,” another account posted.

“Why are the patriots posting this, she's on the other side,” another account wondered.

Another wrote: 'Embarrassing whoever runs this account.'

Comments under the same video on Instagram yielded many of the same results – with Patriots fans all wondering why the team would post a rival fan.

Fans in New England were unhappy with their own team promoting a rival fan of theirs

It's not like the Patriots were doing particularly well at this point in the game either. The post came midway through the second quarter, which ended with the Patriots trailing 14-10.

Things only got worse for New England from there – with two field goals from Harrison Butker, combined with a touchdown reception from Clyde Edwards-Helaire, making it 27-10 by the time the third quarter ended.

Although New England ultimately put more points on the board, they fell to the Chiefs 27-17. Kelce finished the game with just five catches for 28 yards.

The Patriots have the second-worst record in the NFL and have fallen to 3-11, putting them one game behind the first overall pick in next year's draft.
