Police release never-before-seen video of former NFL coach Britt Reid’s drunken car crash…with Chiefs head coach Andy’s disgraced son heard asking if critically injured five-year-old girl in other vehicle is ‘okay’
Video of the 2021 accident involving former Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid has been released by police.
The video, obtained by TMZ, showed Reid asking about the status of five-year-old passenger Ariel Young, who was critically injured.
Britt Reid, the son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, had left the team facility in early February 2021 – the same week Kansas City was scheduled to play against Tampa Bay in Super Bowl LV.
Reid crashed into a car and injured several passengers, including Young who suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for two weeks.
In the video, Reid also revealed that he suffered a stomach injury the week of the accident.

Reid entered a plea deal in September 2022 and was sentenced to three years in prison in November

Reid told officers, “My front end is starting to swell a little bit,” as he sought medical attention. He also informed the police that he had taken Adderall that day.
He was also seen trying to contact someone via a phone call, before an officer stepped in and said, “We can’t be on the phone right now, okay?”
Reid replied, “My dad’s over there.” According to TMZ, a Kansas City police spokesperson said they did not know if Andy Reid was at the crime scene at the time.
Blood alcohol tests showed that Britt Reid had a BAC reading of .113 after the accident. Police believe he was traveling at about 83 miles per hour at the time of the wreck. In the state of Kansas, the legal limit for a blood alcohol level is .08
Reid was subsequently fired from his position as linebacker coach on the team and it was eventually revealed that he had consumed alcohol at the team’s facility.
Last November, he reached a plea deal for three years in prison for the incident. He had pleaded guilty in September.
