Chilling video shows father bringing his kids to help him rob homes: ‘We declare war’
Two California fathers have been caught on camera encouraging their children to help vandalize and burglarize a self-declared sovereign community.
The ‘micronation’ Slowjamastan is now offering a $1,000 reward for information about the suspects.
Community officials said that on the night of Dec. 14, the parents “took their small children to commit multiple crimes,” including allegedly stealing and scrawling “we declare war” in graffiti.
The video shows the two men repeatedly trying a door handle as they try to break into a guard hut.
As they get closer, they notice that the security camera is on, causing one of the children to tell their father that they are scared.
But another who seems undeterred asks, “Daddy, where’s the crowbar?”
The men continue to figure out how to gain access and decide that maybe they should break a window.
“Wait, no, no, no, I don’t think this is a good idea,” one of the concerned children can be heard saying as his father tries to winch the door open with the crowbar.

The group is said to have stolen property from a guard hut in the ‘micronation’ of Slowjamastan
“Would you like to try it?” he asks the children as one shouts, “It’s not working.”
However, another boy with them gets scared and repeats that it is a bad idea.
“You’re driving my kids crazy,” one of the men jokes to the other. ‘Who wants to give it a try? Goldie? I’ll keep you safe, I promise.”
But the kids seem reluctant when someone asks what will happen if they are caught.
“What if they actually try to do something and actually charge us?” the child asks.
“I’ll take the heat for it, I can get out of jail, I’ve done it before,” says one of the fathers, making the kids even more concerned.
They keep trying the doors and eventually the slam opens, causing the men to laugh and shout in celebration.
They run in and start looting and the children start screaming with excitement.

Community officials estimate the vandals caused about $20,000 in damage
‘We have found a treasure!’ one of the fathers shouts before the group is seen making off with several items, including a mannequin.
At the end of the clip, you can hear the dads celebrating how “amazing” the experience was and making plans for where to go next.
Footage shared by community officials also shows the suspects leaving behind graffiti. They estimate the damage caused at around $20,000.
‘Slowjamastan’ has always been about fun and community – a cool place, built by cool people, in Ocotillo Wells,” officials said.
“It is ironic that just days before this incident, the Slowjamastan crew spent the weekend clearing the desert; our Adopt-a-Highway program along CA-78.
“Just to see these amazing examples of parents bringing their small children to commit multiple crimes.

This may have seemed like a funny joke, but you have broken numerous laws.”
‘For me it’s not about the property, which can be repaired, it’s about the minds and hearts of these children – that is child abuse at its worst. Something has to be done,” said community “Sultan” Randy Williams NBC11.
