Victoria’s Parliament House in Melbourne has been locked due to an alleged bomb threat.

Security was seen around the Spring Street building around 11:30 am Thursday, Sky News reported.

Police arrived on the scene and blocked access to the building.

Obviously a phone call has been made.

All construction work in the building has been halted while a planned press conference was cancelled.

“Dear Members, we have been informed that there has been an alleged bomb threat in the Parliament building,” an email sent to MPs reads.

“At this stage, the building is locked, so no one can enter or leave the building,” it sounds.

“Police are investigating and we’ll send an email update as soon as we have more information.”
