Disturbing photos show the horrific scene where a young mother’s body was discovered in a bin on a remote road.
The body of 30-year-old Chaithanya ‘Swetha’ Madhagani was found in a green rubbish bin on Mount Pollock Road in Buckley, west of Geelong, at noon on Saturday.
The bin spent much of Saturday in the sweltering heat before homicide detectives arrived in the late afternoon.
Photos from the scene show the box half hidden behind a bush with a large white blanket folded next to it.
The mother of one was found by police and sources who knew her said her son’s father Ashok Raj Varikuppala recently left the country for India with their child.
Mr Varikuppala, who has not been charged with any wrongdoing, has been in contact with relatives in Victoria and will co-operate with police in their investigation.

Police established two crime scenes, one on Mount Pollock Road and another 82km away at a residential address in Mirka Wat in Point Cook, Melbourne.
A police spokesman confirmed that the two scenes were linked to Ms Madhagani’s death.
Eric Lewis, who owns the land on either side of where the body was found, said he had never seen a garbage can there, despite walking past it regularly.
Another local resident recalled walking in the area on Friday and noticed a pungent odor that he suspected was a dead sheep.
Friends have since described Ms Madhagani as ‘a perfect woman and a perfect mother’ who lived for her son.
Ms. Madhagani often cooked and shared food and invited people to her home, friends said.
A neighbor told me Herald Sun that Mrs. Madhagani was “one of the sweetest girls ever.”
“Everyone would want Swetha in their life. She was full of life – I can’t believe she’s gone.
“A life has been lost, it is even worse that it has been found elsewhere, we all deserve dignity.”
Another neighbor said he was “in disbelief” at the news and that his son had attended a birthday party for the couple’s child.
He had known the family for three years,
“They’re a very good, nice family, I’ve never seen them argue,” he said.

Speaking to reporters, a neighbor said Ms Madhagani was “one of the sweetest girls ever”.
Family friends described Mrs Madhagani as ‘a perfect wife and a perfect mother’ who lived for her son
