In an Instagram post on Saturday, the Spice Girl reminisced about a weekend in Portofino in 1997, just weeks after meeting the footballer.
The post was intended to promote Victoria’s latest perfume under her Victoria Beckhma beauty brand, called Portofino ’97.
It prompted a glowing response from Kourtney Kardashian, who married her husband Travis Barker in Portofino in 2022: ‘Ahhh Portofino ‘
The couple’s trip to Portofino in 1997 came shortly after the two met in 1997, after ‘Posh Spice’ attended one of David’s Manchester United matches with bandmate Mel C.
A year later, they publicly announced that they were engaged and have been happily married since July 1999.
Now, four children and two hugely successful careers later, Posh and Becks are preparing to celebrate their milestone silver wedding anniversary on July 4.
Although they now go by Brand Beckham’s name, collaborate on work projects and enjoy their lavish life together, Victoria says her manager told her at the beginning of her relationship with David that she had to ‘keep it a secret’.
She said in the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham: ‘We met in car parks and it’s not as seedy as it sounds.’
David’s mother admitted in the documentary that she feared her son would lose his career at Manchester United if Victoria came on the scene.
Sandra recalled: ‘We were afraid he would lose everything he worked for because football had always come first and suddenly it wasn’t anymore.’
Through their various business ventures and achievements, the couple always publicly congratulates each other after big wins
