Victoria Beckham reveals the REAL reason for her extreme diet and admits she never cooks due to daughter Harper, 13, joking she can ‘burn water’
Victoria Beckham has revealed the real reason for her extreme diet, which has seen her eating the same thing for 25 years, according to husband David.
The fashion designer, 50, said she first gave up meat when she was just eight and now still adheres to a strict set of rules for the sake of her skin after struggling with acne at the height of her Spice Girls fame.
Victoria said she now also avoids certain wheats and flours and keeps her complexion glowing with a £2,000 Dermalux LED device, which she uses for 30 minutes every morning.
She told me The Telegraph: ‘My skin has made me very careful about what I eat.’
Victoria also admitted that she now never cooks after previously trying to master the art when the family lived in Spain, after David signed for Real Madrid in 2003.

She joked: ‘[My daughter] Harper says I can burn water, so it’s probably better for everyone if I don’t.”
Victoria and David, who married in 1999, are parents to Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13.
She also admitted that the reason she always looked so severe in photos is because she was self-conscious about her skin.
Over the years, the fashion designer became synonymous with her steely pout, often failing to crack a smile at many a public event.
Victoria has long been open about her insecurities about her ‘problematic’ skin, having suffered from acne since her teens and struggled to become famous while having skin problems in her twenties.
Reflecting on how self-conscious she was about her appearance, she noted, “I probably looked stern in a lot of photos, but I felt so uncomfortable.”
Victoria isn’t the only celebrity to have opted for LED treatment, with light therapy masks favored by A-listers such as Kaley Cuoco, Carey Mulligan, Kristen Davis and Suki Waterhouse.
Using a combination of red and infrared light, the at-home beauty device claims to stimulate circulation, smooth skin texture and boost collagen production, leaving skin looking plumper and younger.

Victoria insisted in a recent conversation with Grazia magazine that she wouldn’t go so far as to give up her beloved wine and just wants to “have a good time.”
However, she admitted her diet was ‘disciplined’ and said: ‘This is what I look like. I’m going to make the best of it, work hard at it.
‘I’m very disciplined in the way I eat, the way I train and the way I work. That’s just who I am.’
It may detract from her extreme eating habits, with her husband David previously revealing that Victoria has been eating the same meal every day for 25 years – grilled fish and steamed vegetables.
‘I get quite emotional when it comes to food and wine. “When I eat something great, I want everyone to try it,” he said.
‘Unfortunately I’m married to someone who has been eating the same thing for 25 years!
‘Since I met her she only eats grilled fish [and] steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that.
“The only time she probably ever shared something that was on my plate was when she was pregnant with Harper and that was the most amazing thing.
‘It was one of my favorite nights. I don’t remember what it was, but I know she hasn’t eaten it since.’
In July, Victoria responded significantly to this confession Vogue Australia her husband made her taste “sound boring,” when in fact she fills her diet with “healthy fat” and does regular detox cleansing where she abstains from drinking alcohol.
She said, “I mean, if you’re talking about me sounding boring! No. What he meant is that he has never met anyone who is more disciplined in the way he eats.
‘I eat a lot of healthy fat: fish, avocado, nuts, that kind of thing. I do drink alcohol unless I have a reason not to.

While speaking to an Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie Ohost Jackie ‘O’ Henderson admitted she was ‘obsessed’ with Victoria’s diet.
Rio replied, “I’ve never seen her eat anything. To be honest, I can’t remember anything that comes to mind.’
