Victoria and David Beckham back to matching to attend Christmas party

David Beckham missed Tuesday’s England v Wales match in Qatar to fly home to attend his wife Victoria’s Christmas party.

And the couple was back on their best as they were photographed leaving her Dover Street store in Mayfair, looking very attractive in black.

David and Victoria held hands as they exited the posh store at around 10pm after letting their hair down but failing to smile.

The sportsman has been in trouble in recent months for refusing to step down from fulfilling his £10 million Qatar World Cup deal amid anger over human rights and LGBTQ+ issues.

But he and Victoria put on a united front to party with Posh in a gorgeous black dress with a long fringed hemline.

She paired the number with strappy sandals and, of course, wore her signature sunglasses despite it being night time.

David also looked handsome in a black jumper with baggy pants and brown shoes, and completed the look with quirky sunglasses.

The couple looked very much in love as they got ready to go home.

A source told MailOnline: “The music was extremely loud and the DJ even played a Spice Girls record.”

No doubt David was delighted by England’s 3-0 win against Wales that night, even if he wasn’t there to see it.

David has been criticized for his £10 million Qatar World Cup deal.

FIFA’s decision to host the World Cup in Qatar has been surrounded by controversy, especially with regard to migrant workers and the LGBTQ+ community.

David has not spoken about the country’s oppressive laws, despite warnings of human rights violations and a dismal record on LGBTQ+ issues.

Last week, comedian Joe Lycett threatened to destroy £10,000 if he didn’t back out of the role – but David gave him no answer.

The former footballer arrived in Doha ahead of England’s first game against Iran and has so far been seen in the stands at England’s matches.

Also last week, the publisher of Attitude magazine pulled its famous David Beckham cover from its offices, criticizing the footballer for “turning a blind eye to corruption.”

Gay lifestyle magazine owner Darren Styles OBE tweeted the 2002 cover showing the former England captain with dyed blonde hair.

The page was accompanied by quotes from David saying ‘it shouldn’t matter what people are and it never did to me’, adding that it’s ‘the way I was raised and the way I will always be’ .

Darren said the magazine had “proudly” sat in Attitude’s offices for 20 years, but that he has now made the decision to remove it after “the Qataris have bought his silence.”

He said, “This canvas has proudly hung on the office wall of Attitude Magazine for many years. I took it out today.

“Talking about things nobody talks about is ‘as he always has been and as he always will be,’ David Beckham told us in 2002. Until the Qataris bought his silence 20 years later.”
