NBA fans didn’t hold back when discussing Victor Wembanyama’s subpar debut in the San Antonio Spurs’ season-opening 126-119 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
The 7-foot-4 Wembanyama played 23 minutes and was 6-9 with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
Wembanyama was the only member of the Spurs starting line-up with less than 25 minutes played after sitting out much of the match due to foul trouble.
It wasn’t until late in the fourth quarter that the 19-year-old began to salvage his meager stat line after spending time feeling forever stuck with just six points.
“What a disappointing debut for Victor Wembanyama,” one fan wrote with a gaping emoji.
