Victor Osimhen has been named in Napoli’s starting XI for Wednesday’s Serie A match against Udinese, despite the player being embroiled in an ongoing feud with the club.
The Napoli forward has been involved in a chaotic series of recent events that were sparked by the club posting videos on their Tik Tok account mocking Osimhen.
Napoli were named top scorers in their matchday squad last season and manager Rudi Garcia subsequently picked the Nigerian to start against Udinese.
Osimhen and Garcia fell out after the striker was mocked by his own club and the player’s relationship with the Serie A champions now appears irreparably broken.
A move in January now beckons for the goalscorer and a host of top clubs from Europe and Saudi Arabia are expected to make a bid for Osimhen. The player has previously expressed interest in joining a Premier League side.

Osimhen – who guided Napoli to a first league title in more than 30 years last season – was at the center of controversy after TikTok videos from the club shared on Wednesday appeared to mock him.
One video was of his penalty miss during Sunday’s goalless draw against Bologna.
It was a rare mistake from the Nigerian, who has scored 62 goals in 107 appearances for Serie A, but the clip appeared to ridicule him for his efforts to convince the penalty.
