Vicky Pattison talks shared her image struggles as she admits to feeling insecure about her figure
Vicky Pattison has opened up about her struggles with body image and admits she feels insecure about her figure before flying to Dubai next week.
The former reality star, 35, is about to fly to the UAE for a getaway with friends but is also currently reeling from her egg retrieval procedure.
Currently going through the process of freezing her eggs, the recent medical procedure has left her bloated and inflamed, with the star explaining that she is “amazed” at the job her body has done.
But despite being in awe of her body, Vicky admitted that she was also “angry about it” because she was worried about her image.
She explained on Saturday, “This thought process isn’t something I’m proud of, but it’s super hard to escape a life where you’ve been conditioned to believe you’re only attractive if you’re a certain size or shape.”
Vicky Pattison has spoken candidly about her struggles with her body image, admitting she felt insecure about her figure this week as she recovers from her egg retrieval procedure
Vicky took to her Instagram page and shared a triple collage of photos taken in just a T-shirt and her underwear.
The TV personality showed off her real body in the natural snaps and told her 5.3 million followers about the struggles she faces.
She wrote, “The human body is pretty amazing… isn’t it? ♥️ In the last two weeks my little body has been pumped full of hormones, manipulated to make 10 eggs, 9 of which were mature and ready for the next stages! It has literally created life – Potentially 9 times!
“It’s done a lot more than I ever expected in such a short time – it’s really incredible. And do you know the craziest?? Is that even after all I’ve been through, all it’s done for me.. I’m mad about it.’
Vicky added where her insecurities come into play and continued, “I should be celebrating everything my body has given me and instead I’m worried about how I’ll look next week in a bikini in Dubai. And please don’t think how bland and superficial that is wasted on me.. This thought process is not something I’m proud of but it’s super hard to escape a lifetime of being conditioned to believe that you’re only attractive if you are a specific size or shape.
“I know I’m a big believer in loving the skin you’re in…even if it’s not your usual skin.” So this may seem a bit hypocritical… But with the recent changes in my body being so sudden… I haven’t even had a chance to wrap my head around it yet. But I promise I will ♥️
“My giant sore and swollen breasts, my bloated tummy and my flabby boy ass are proof of what my tiny body has given me – which is an opportunity for future happiness and I should be more than thankful for it.” Don’t speak negatively about it and wish it were something else. But sometimes those intrusive little thoughts creep in, don’t they?
Staying positive, she kept looking at the fun trip in Dubai and not focusing on the uncertainties.
‘The past few days have been challenging’: Vicky Pattison has described her ‘painful’ recovery from egg retrieval this week as she gave fans an update on the freezing process
Difficult: The star explained it had been a challenging few days and shared photos of the process’s ups and downs
Finish: “But you know, once I’m out of my mind and into the moment in Dubai, I think I’ll stop worrying about my body not being tiny or perfectly sculpted and just have fun with my friends!” Because they don’t care that I’m not a size 6 or have perky small boobs – they love me for me, and I really should start doing the same 😉♥️
So I guess this is just a gentle reminder, to myself and anyone who needs to hear it: bodies change. Our bodies are constantly changing – and whether they’re bigger or smaller, soft or skinny, they all deserve love and celebration. And occasionally some cocktails in the sun’
She underwent the egg retrieval procedure earlier this week and shared some snaps from the hospital as she admitted that her recovery from the medical procedure was “more painful” and “more difficult” than expected.
While explaining it had been a “challenging few days,” the brunette beauty added the good news that 10 eggs had been recovered.
The retrieval is part of the egg-freezing process and is an ultrasound-guided procedure that usually takes 20-30 minutes, with the patient placed under anesthesia.
And Vicky’s update is the latest in a series, where she’s kept fans updated on her journey.
Vicky recently explained that she doesn’t feel ready to have a child with her fiancé Ercan, 29, and believes that by freezing both her embryos and her eggs, she is “relieving herself of the pressure.”
“I was just freezing my eggs, but freezing embryos has a better success rate, so I do both,” she tells New! magazine

More difficult: Vicky admitted that her recovery from the medical procedure was “more painful” and “more difficult” than expected
“I’m 35, but I don’t want a child right now. I am not done. No one is ready, Ercan and I have been dating for four years and he’s 29. The last thing I want is to force him into a situation where he doesn’t trust or isn’t ready and then gets angry.’
Vicky adds that because of her struggle to find the perfect wedding venue with the ‘wow factor’, they might have a baby before they get married.
“The marriage process was more challenging than I expected. We may not get married first, it may be the year after, because I don’t have to be married to have a baby. Everything will happen when it has to.’
