Vicky McClure goes on an ’emotional’ journey in Who Do You Think You Are.
The Trigger Point actress, 41, will travel to Japan as part of her episode of the upcoming 20th anniversary series of the hit BBC genealogy show in a bid to trace her family history.
The BAFTA Award-winning star has already spoken about her veteran grandfather in honor of D-Day and featured in her own ITV documentary on the subject.
But now, according to The mirrorshe will travel to the Far East to find out more about her family.
BBC history boss Simon Young said: ‘Time and time again it proves the old adage that truth is stranger than fiction, while helping us all understand Britain’s history and all the better for it.’

The Line Of Duty star is just one of many famous faces set to take part in the upcoming series, which over its two-decade history has seen the likes of Harry Potter author JK Rowling, Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas and actress Sheridan Smith discovers their roots.
This year, comedian Paddy McGuinness, athlete Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Spice Girl Melanie C will be on camera.
For Liverpool native Melanie C, she will discover a political history in her family and also discover how her family survived the Great Famine in Ireland.
Other celebrities who have signed up include TOWIE legend Gemma Collins, Troublemaker singer Olly Murs and former EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
Executive producer Colette Flight said: “The celebrities were moved to tears, laughter, anger and joy as they learned about the lives of their ancestors.”
The series is expected to air on BBC One this summer.

She said: “It’s so important to keep this history very close and make sure the children know about it,” she said.
‘It’s so important that people like my grandfather can remember this and I’m sure there are many veterans who felt unable or didn’t want to do that.
“So any information we can get about that history is important.”
