Alan Jones finally sells his luxurious NSW farmhouse for $12.8 million after listing it for the second time, making a $10 million profit on the deal.

Former 2GB radio presenter Alan Jones has sold his luxury Southern Highlands farm estate in rural New South Wales for just over $12.8 million.

The veteran presenter, 81, sold the large property to Sydney builder Blake Cottle of FDC Construction and his wife Justine.

Jones bought the farm in 2003 for $2.6 million and has spent the last two decades giving it a major makeover.

He first put the farm on the market early last year for $17.5 million and relisted it for $16 million in October when he couldn’t secure a buyer.

Fitzroy Falls Farm is particularly attractive to industry buyers, boasting a large 25-room estate and state-of-the-art equestrian facilities.

Other features include a caretakers’ cottage, landscaped gardens, an ornamental lake and a tennis court.

Jones named the farm Elizabeth Farm and Charlieville, after her parents.

Last year, Jones called on Australians on welfare payments to step up and work as employers struggle to find staff for key positions.

The announcer discussed the staff shortage during his late-night show on digital broadcast service ADH TV.

“Everywhere I look, I’m faced with companies big and small throwing their arms in the air and saying they can’t get staff,” Jones said.

He claimed in the video that labor shortages had become a ‘consequence’ of the ‘necessary closure of our borders’ during the Covid pandemic.

Jones lives in a luxury apartment on East Circular Quay, overlooking Sydney Harbour.
