Following Wynne’s ‘wandering hand’ on Saturday night, the BBC have since insisted they will not be pursuing the matter, with the dance partners insisting their perceived awkwardness was part of a yet-to-be-clarified ‘in-joke’.
A spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Wynne and Katya have confirmed that their interactions in the Clauditorium were stupid pranks they planned together and have apologized to anyone who may have misinterpreted them.
“They addressed them on Wynne’s Instagram, where their apology can be found. Katya also wants to make it clear that she was not offended by Wynne and that she did not feel uncomfortable at all.
‘The welfare team has checked on the couple and no further action is planned.’
During Sunday night’s results show, fans noticed a simmering feud between the Welsh opera singer and the Russian ballroom professional – despite the pair labeling claims of a rift as ‘absurd’.
After revealing that they were safe and would perform again next week, a number of couples headed to the green room.

Both Katya and Wynne have taken to social media in an attempt to clarify what happened this weekend.
In a video shared to her Instagram on Sunday, the star explained that the entire episode was a misunderstanding and that the two had an inside joke.
She called fans’ speculation about Wynne’s wandering hands “absurd” and reassured fans not to worry.
In the clip, which she apparently filmed from her home, the star wore a purple sweater with a pink collar and cuffs and had her long brown hair down.
She said, “Happy Sunday everyone. Now I have to make something crystal clear.
“The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly, very silly joke between Wynne and I, so even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended me in any way is complete nonsense.
‘It’s actually quite absurd. Can we just focus on how brilliantly he is doing and what a great dancer he has become?’.
She then interrupted herself as the door buzzer went off before explaining that she had a delivery.
‘Delivery, sorry, I have to go, lots of love, bye!’ she added before finishing her video as she walked to her front door.
