Wynne said, “Yes. I don’t know, I haven’t seen you come close [with anyone]even if that were possible.’

Following Wynne’s ‘wandering hand’ on Saturday night, the BBC have since insisted they will not be pursuing the matter, with the dance partners insisting their perceived awkwardness was part of a yet-to-be-clarified ‘in-joke’.

A spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Wynne and Katya have confirmed that their interactions in the Clauditorium were stupid pranks they planned together and have apologized to anyone who may have misinterpreted them.

“They addressed them on Wynne’s Instagram, where their apology can be found. Katya also wants to make it clear that she was not offended by Wynne and that she did not feel uncomfortable at all.

‘The welfare team has checked on the couple and no further action is planned.’

During Sunday night’s results show, fans noticed a simmering feud between the Welsh opera singer and the Russian ballroom professional – despite the pair labeling claims of a rift as ‘absurd’.

After revealing that they were safe and would perform again next week, a number of couples headed to the green room.

During a discussion about Wynne’s dance, host Claudia Winkleman asked the singer how he felt about having done it.

While the dancing duo opened up about any secret romances going on behind the scenes in a recent interview, Wynne randomly sent the question to Katya.

Wynne asked, “I didn’t see anyone [getting close]Are you getting close to anyone?’

Stunned, Katya replied, “Me?” Wynne said, “Yes. I don’t know, I haven’t seen you come close [with anyone]even if that were possible.’

And during his response, fans noticed that Katya’s face was very serious throughout, with some fans even suggesting that she was disgusted with her partner.

Fan speculation comes after the dancing duo’s behavior in the fourth live show.

When Claudia revealed that this week’s voting lines were open, Wynne put his arm around Katya, causing her to swat his hand away as it moved along her waist.

A second chilling moment saw the Russian dancer appear to shun her celebrity partner’s attempts to give a high five after Sam Quek and Nikita Kumzin’s performance.

Katya stood with both hands outstretched and seemed to deliberately turn her back on her partner rather than return the gesture.

And fans are now even more certain of bad blood between the Russian dancer and Wynne.

During the show, Claudia asked Wynne how he was feeling, noting that he looked shaken.

Wynne replied, “I’m shocked because I didn’t think I would survive the first week, so to be here after doing a tango is really exciting.

Meanwhile, during a second awkward interaction, Katya appeared to avoid Wynne’s attempts at a high five after Sam Quek and Nikita Kumzin’s performance

Both Katya and Wynne have taken to social media in an attempt to clarify what happened over the weekend. They describe it as an inside joke between them and confirm that they are friends.

‘And I had such a good time and thanks to Katya’s clever choreography.’

As Wynne gave his response, fans noticed that Katya remained stony-faced and even appeared to wince as the opera singer evaluated his performance.

Some even pointed out that he was standing with his hands behind his back, which they said was in response to fans’ reaction after Saturday’s episode.

And viewers took to

‘Oh the tension between wynne and katya, they will ‘leave this week for personal reasons’ very uncomfortable to watch’.

“Katya with a face like a spanked ass when Wynne was talking.”

‘Wynne was standing completely normal with his hands behind his back. There’s nothing to see here, no sir.’

Some fans thought the comments on social media after Saturday’s live show may have influenced the singer.

Both Katya and Wynne have taken to social media in an attempt to clarify what happened this weekend.

In a video shared to her Instagram on Sunday, the star explained that the entire episode was a misunderstanding and that the two had an inside joke.

She called fans’ speculation about Wynne’s wandering hands “absurd” and reassured fans not to worry.

In the clip, which she apparently filmed from her home, the star wore a purple sweater with a pink collar and cuffs and had her long brown hair down.

She said, “Happy Sunday everyone. Now I have to make something crystal clear.

“The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly, very silly joke between Wynne and I, so even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended me in any way is complete nonsense.

‘It’s actually quite absurd. Can we just focus on how brilliantly he is doing and what a great dancer he has become?’.

She then interrupted herself as the door buzzer went off before explaining that she had a delivery.

‘Delivery, sorry, I have to go, lots of love, bye!’ she added before finishing her video as she walked to her front door.
