Verizon has gone bankrupt across the US, leaving many customers unable to use their smartphones.
The outage started around 2 p.m. and few reports surfaced, but thousands have emerged since then – all claiming problems with cell service.
Reports indicate that both iPhone and Android users are affected.
Verizon's dashboard says: 'Data, voice and text are limited. There is a known issue and we are working on a solution.”

Verizon has more than 143 million users in the US, but the number affected by Friday's outage is unknown.
Downdetector, a site that monitors online problems, reports that the largest number of customers without service are in Omaha, San Diego, Portland, Phoenix and Louisville.
Although Verizon did not report the outage on its social media, customers can view their location's service on the company's dashboard here.
