Notorious animal rights activist Tash Peterson leads lingerie-clad protests in icy weather

Protesters have flocked to Melbourne’s CBD, braving the icy weather in pink lingerie to campaign against the use of feathers and down in blankets and clothing.
Led by notorious animal rights activist Tash Peterson, the small scantily clad crowd gathered in temperatures of 12C on Wednesday, holding up placards while a television played graphic videos of birds with their feathers removed.
“If you see yourself as an animal abuser, keep buying these products,” one protester told the crowd gathered at the busy intersection outside Flinders Street Station.
“But if you think this is wrong, don’t buy it again.”

One of the female protesters approached a disgruntled man on the street who was harassing the ensemble, seemingly responding to heated comments about feeling worms.
Ms. Peterson, who goes by the name Vegan Booty online, posted on social media Tuesday claiming people flew off the interstate to join the protest.
Last month, Ms. Peterson donned a slaughterhouse ensemble and entered a KFC restaurant, where she confronted customers by pouring fake blood around the outlet’s interior, while another activist played video of chickens being slaughtered.
She also recently appeared at a store in Melbourne in Kathmandu to protest against the use of feathers and down, dressed as a skinned bird and carrying a replica of a goose carcass.
A shirtless protester addressed passersby and pointed to the repeated videos playing on the TV.
“On screen you see ducks and geese having their feathers plucked at 10 weeks old, every six weeks or so, until they die brutally in the slaughterhouse at about 12 months old,” he said.
“This is where your warm duvets, coats, jackets and sleeping bags come from.”
The advocates held up several signs, some reading “If you’re not a vegan, you’re an animal abuser,” while another said “Veganism is hard for selfish people.”

One sign said “Tofu Never Screams” and others said “Eat P***y Not Animals.”
Two protesters held signs also urging consumers to consider the environmental impacts of livestock farming.
‘Choose climate-friendly food’, said one, and another: ‘Animal agriculture is the biggest contributor to climate change’.
One protester told the crowd that the group was exercising its bodily autonomy to protest on behalf of animals, which were unable to do so.
