Vegan activist Tash Peterson’s surprising reaction to protesters who plan to gather outside her home and have a BBQ
Notorious vegan protester Tash Peterson has thanked organizers of a planned protest outside her home for highlighting her animal rights case.
The May 24 protest is expected to draw more than 500 people to her Perth home to enjoy a meat-packed barbecue, countering her disruptive public demonstrations.
For years, Ms. Peterson has stormed fast-food chains, restaurants, rodeos and petting zoos, using fake blood and a megaphone to denounce meat-eaters.
The glamorous influencer has even appeared topless in many of her stunts and has been in court several times.
The organizer of the protest, Ben D’Arcy, said he started the event because Ms. Peterson is a “serious nuisance” and needs a “taste of her own medicine.”
Ms. Peterson said she is glad her protests had caused enough of an uproar to warrant a retaliation, and thanked those in attendance for drawing attention to veganism.

“It has resulted in a whole group of people feeling so triggered that they are calling me names like that and claiming that my activism is ridiculous and has no meaningful impact,” Ms. Peterson said. PerthNow.
While the protest does not worry her, she said it is “very sad that they are going to cook the body parts of animals that were brutally murdered and who were screaming and fighting for their lives.”
Police will be present at the protest to ensure the event remains peaceful, but Ms Peterson said it is unlikely she will “do anything about it anyway”.
“The only concern the police have for me is to charge and arrest me as much as possible,” she said.
Just days earlier, Mr D’Arcy claimed he had the support of both the public and police over Ms Peterson’s frequent protests.
“The public is tired of her, business owners are tired of her and the police hate having to deal with her all the time,” he told Youth Jam News.
“Since she thinks it’s appropriate to step into people’s affairs and cause chaos, I thought it would be a good idea to show her what that feels like.”
Mr D’Arcy has pledged to continue hosting regular barbecues outside Ms Peterson’s home until she stops hosting her own events.
He has also promised to pay the city council for approval to close the street during the counter-protest.

Ms Peterson’s protests included going nearly naked in Melbourne (pictured), pouring fake blood on herself in Sydney and appearing topless in a mockup meat tray.
Ms Peterson, who is originally from Perth, had to temporarily move to Melbourne after being handed a 12-month state ban from licensed venues in WA.
The 29-year-old used the ban as another opportunity to promote her activism and burned what she claimed was the police notice informing her of her ban.
“I’ve had my freedom of speech taken away… I’m just going to protest there (Melbourne and Sydney),” she said at the time.
“I will continue to frequent restaurants and places with liquor licenses if they make a profit and serve animal cruelty, torture, slavery and murder.
“No one can stop me from exposing the greatest holocaust in history, where trillions of non-humans are brutally murdered simply for human pleasure.”
The ban was prompted by her surprise visits to celebrity chef John Mountain, who controversially banned vegans from his Fyre restaurant in Perth.
