Tash Peterson: Controversial vegan activist’s harsh punishment after storming Perth restaurant
Vegan activist Tash Peterson has paid a heavy price for storming a restaurant, prompting a brutal response from the eatery.
The controversial animal rights activist pleaded guilty to two charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct over two separate confrontations at Fyre restaurant in the northern Perth suburb of Connolly last year.
Petersen was given a six-month ban from leaving Western Australia under a community order made by a magistrate at the Joondalup District Court last week.
She was also fined thousands of dollars.
Fyre couldn’t hide its joy when the restaurant posted comments on its Facebook page about the lawsuit’s outcome.
“Peterson has pleaded guilty to the crimes she committed at our location over a year ago,” the message reads.
“She was given a six-month community service order of 30 hours of ‘s*** picking’, $2,300 in fines and costs on top of that. Thank you WA Police, we at Fyre love you all.”
Peterson also took to social media, in her case TikTok, to let her supporters know that “if I commit another crime, I’ll be in trouble.”

The 2023 incidents came after owner John Mountain banned vegans from Fyre “for mental health reasons” following a negative review from a non-meat eater.
This led to Peterson and her supporters storming the restaurant on June 30 last year and being physically removed by Mr Mountain and his staff.
That protest led to criminal charges for trespassing, disturbing the peace and being in the vicinity of a licensed premises.
That didn’t stop her from returning the following Saturday, however, where she showed footage of animals being slaughtered and the sound of pigs screaming.
Under the six-month community order issued by the magistrate, she is ‘not allowed to leave WA without prior permission from the Community Corrections Centre’.
Mr Mountain said the incidents were causing him and his staff a lot of stress.
“I don’t want to sound like a whiny Pom, but these people have nothing better to do and we’ve had a few who were spiritually vegan,” the British expat said.
“It’s damaging to the business, despite all the hard work we do.”

Her condemnations were received positively by some people on her TikTok account.
“That’s the end of Tash Peterson. Well done everyone,” someone wrote
Mrs. Peterson responded by writing, “Nice that you think so.”
Others had suggestions for places where she should do her community service. For example, one said it should be “in a slaughterhouse.”
Ms. Peterson is no stranger to controversy.
Her antics have led to police and policymakers in Western Australia calling her ‘Australia’s biggest pest’.
Ms Peterson has received numerous fines for her half-naked demonstrations and protests in designer stores, restaurants and supermarkets.
She once worked as a lifeguard at a swimming pool before sharing racy content on OnlyFans, which reportedly earned her a whopping $40,000 a month.
