Vauxhall has come up with the latest trick to keep EV owners happy while charging: a bespoke barista-quality coffee brewing station for its Mokka EV.
The ‘Mokka Coffe-e’ is a unique product that ‘offers electric vehicle drivers the perfect coffee break while charging their car’.
According to Vauxhall, the concept car ensures drivers always have access to their caffeine fix, no matter where they charge the car.
Research from Vauxhall has found that three quarters of EV drivers consciously plan their journeys around charging points that offer coffee. The call for caffeine has been answered with a new Mokka Coffe-e concept.

After research by Vauxhall revealed that three quarters of EV drivers deliberately plan their journeys around charging points that offer coffee, the manufacturer has stepped in on the caffeine and designed a version of its new Mokka Electric with a built-in coffee maker.
The Mokka Electric is just one of many electric Vauxhalls, with the new Grandland EV specs just confirmed and a new Frontera due to hit UK roads later this year.
It comes with a coffee grinder, mini fridge and knock box, all of which are housed in a custom cabinet hidden behind two Alcantara-clad doors with sleek stainless steel handles and a hand-stitched design that mirrors the Mokka’s interior
The Coffe-e concept includes not one but two coffee machines (ground and pod), as well as a milk frother, coffee grinder, knock box and refrigerator, so you can get started on the perfect cappuccino while it charges.

The unit’s design takes cues from the trendiest new coffee houses, with the grinder, mini-fridge and knock box housed in a custom-made cabinet concealed by two Alcantara-clad doors with sleek stainless steel handles and a hand-stitched design that mirrors the Mokka’s interior.
And there’s no excuse to let someone make a bad coffee when your coffee cart is equipped with a scale to accurately measure the quality of the beans, a Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT) instrument to ensure a smooth extraction flow of the coffee—you’d have to get a barista certificate to know what that is—and an espresso tamper to evenly pack the coffee grounds.
Expect a standard electric range of up to 325 miles, but go up to a massive 435 miles on a later version. Prices start at £34,700 for hybrid powertrains
The return of Frontera: Vauxhall has relaunched the Nineties name for 2024 with the arrival of its latest compact SUV – and it will be a driving force in the transition to exclusive electric car sales from 2028
This being an Angletra, Vauxhall has taken steps to prevent a remote-charging coffee break from being a wet affair. The table stows away, and a hidden storage compartment can be used to retrieve two umbrellas.
But because it’s a posh coffee break, the umbrellas are handmade British Fox umbrellas. We might not be able to grow our own coffee beans, but we can make our own umbrellas.
Vauxhall – the British brand headquartered in Bedfordshire but owned by Stellantis – has enlisted British artisan coffee roaster Cafeology to create a special range of beans inspired by the Mokka Coffe-e.

There are six blends, all roasted and packaged in Sheffield, made from sustainable and ethically sourced beans
Inspired by the colour palette of the Mokka Electric, there are six blends available, all roasted and packaged in Sheffield and made from sustainably and ethically sourced beans.
The ‘Iconic Green’ is said to have ‘a creamy and rich flavour with chocolate notes’, ‘Voltaic Blue’ is ‘sweet and vibrant with notes of blueberry and passionfruit’, while ‘Contrast Grey’ is a ‘balanced espresso with caramel flavours and a spicy, earthy body’.
If these flavours sound too ambitious for your taste buds, there’s also a less adventurous ‘Artic White’ medium roast with ‘lots of molasses sweetness’, a ‘Cosmic Red’ with hints of ‘stone fruit acidity and hazelnut’ and for the heavy drinkers there’s ‘Carbon Black’, which is ‘best enjoyed black with notes of nectarine and blueberry’.
However, for shorter stops you can also simply use the efficiency of coffee cups.
While the setup is quite impressive, it still pales in comparison to the £44,000 champagne case (complete with caviar dispenser) you can buy in the boot of your new Rolls-Royce.

James Taylor, Managing Director at Vauxhall, said: “The UK is a nation of coffee drinkers, with 95 million cups consumed every day. Vauxhall owners are no exception, with 64 per cent drinking at least one cup a day.
‘Whether it’s a latte, flat white, cappuccino or espresso, the Mokka concept has all the tools you need to brew the perfect coffee, wherever the Mokka’s new 54kWh battery takes you.’
Let’s hope you only need a good, strong cup of coffee on your trip, because there’s no room for other provisions in the 310-litre boot.
