Vanessa Morgan admits to feeling ‘bittersweet’ about final season of Riverdale as castmates support

Vanessa Morgan admitted to having “bittersweet” emotions about Riverdale’s final season while being supported by her castmates at her launch party for the Cupshe collaboration.

The 31-year-old actress who plays Toni Topaz on teen drama series The CW was supported by castmates Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Skeet Ulrich who joined her at Hollywood’s rooftop Bar Lis on Saturday.

Vanessa told DailyMail.com exclusively how she enjoyed the show as it jumps back in time for its seventh and final season.

“So we’re in the 1950s this season, which I love because it’s different for me and I feel like I get to play a little bit of a different character,” Vanessa said.

“But we’re starting from the beginning, so all the characters meet again, which is super fun. And I really like how Toni and Cheryl are starting their love story a little bit over and right now they’re going strong. And I think fans who are Choni fans will really love that,” she added.

Vanessa said she has about two more months to shoot and already has feelings about it.

“It’s bittersweet, like it’s emotional. I’m still like, “Oh, hurry up, it’s going to end soon.” It’s a little hard to be honest, but I’m excited to move on to the next one,” Vanessa said.

Vanessa said she auditioned and revealed she has written a movie script and hopes to shop around after the Hollywood writers’ strike.

The Ottawa, Canada native said she wrote a character for herself to play, but it’s not the main character.

“It involves a group of five girls. And I am one of the best friends. I didn’t want to play a leading role. I didn’t want that pressure because I want to be one of the producers,” Vanessa said.

She shared that she plans to play one of the “funny” characters.

Vanessa also shared her support for Hollywood writers in their ongoing strike against movie and TV producers.

“I feel like the writers deserve so much more than what they got and better treatment,” Vanessa said. “We need writers, without writers no material. There’s no way things get 30 million streams and why don’t writers get a bigger percentage of that? It does not make any sense.’
