Vanessa Feltz is getting a post-breakup makeover and heads to the hairdresser on Thursday.

The 60-year-old broadcaster has had a rough week after revealing on Saturday that she had split from her partner of 16 years, Ben Ofoedu.

But keeping a positive attitude, Vanessa decided to pamper herself a bit, declaring “when all else fails, fix that barnet.”

Sharing an update on Instagram, the TV and radio star was in high spirits as she spoke to her fans from her salon chair.

“Good morning, I’m at the hairdresser and what I think is that when all else fails, fix that barnet,” he joked.

Vanessa has revealed that she is doing everything she can to “put on a brave face” in the wake of her split from Ben.

The broadcaster, 60, revealed in recent days that she and her fiancé, 50, had split amid claims that he was “cheating on various other women”.

Speaking to Ulrika Jonsson on her TalkTV show on Wednesday, Vanessa admitted that she’s trying to stay positive for the sake of her audience.

She said: ‘I’m doing my best to put on a brave face. After all, I’m at work, this is my job.

“I don’t want to burden my listeners and viewers with looking completely miserable so they’re afraid to watch the show and think, ‘Oh, gosh, is Vanessa falling apart before our very eyes?’ So I’m trying to do a professional job and hang in there.’

The television personality said she had a moment of sadness on her way to work earlier this week.

She said: “I had a moment on the escalator going up from the subway on Monday and I was like, ‘oh God’.”

She and Michael have been married for 17 years and have two daughters, Allegra, 37, and Saskia, 34.

Speaking of Ben’s alleged infidelities, Vanessa said on This Morning: “I wasn’t the one who told anyone, I tried to keep it private as much as I could.”

‘You know that everyone knows about your private business, but on the other hand, you don’t have to keep explaining and everyone gives you a hug.’

And speaking of the 10-year age difference with Ben, Vanessa said: “I never really knew why I’m interested, he was younger, I was older.” We were different.

Now it’s over, I don’t know.

She added: ‘It helps when people say you shouldn’t feel foolish for having faith in your own partner, or feel stupid for believing in someone you love.

That’s not ridiculous. I feel sad, I feel hurt, terribly humiliated, but many have said that you shouldn’t. But believing in your own relationship is not stupid.

Vanessa was asked if she had a feeling Ben was cheating on her or if her discovery came as a complete shock.

She said: ‘Both, I think, a terrible shock and kind of a gradual thing, it’s often the case, a mixture of the two.

I would be very grateful for the advice.
