Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney heartbrokenly revealed on Friday that her father Richard Maloney has passed away.
She did not reveal his age or specify the cause of death, but revealed that he passed away last Sunday, January 5.
The 37-year-old posted a devastated message to her Instagram page, along with a photo of her and Richard cuddling in the snow.
“My dad was everyone’s favorite, he was so charming and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable,” she wrote in her caption.
She praised him for being “so supportive of my brothers and me growing up,” adding that he “supported our efforts” as his children grew up.
“Daddy, I love you forever, thank you for the million laughs, for the father-daughter dancing all the way through life and for the love you gave us,” she added.

‘I feel like I’m a stranger to sadness. As much as it has touched my life and so many of those I love. It’s not something I’m comfortable with or familiar with,” she began the announcement on her Instagram page.
‘My father passed away last Sunday. Since then I have been confronted with a variety of emotions: numbness, tranquility, utter sadness and sometimes even guilt.’
She remembered vividly: ‘My father was everyone’s favourite, he was so charming and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. We shared a love of dad jokes and he had an endless supply.”
Katie added: ‘He was always so supportive of my brothers and I growing up and as adults he championed our efforts.’
She continued, “I can’t smell the Irish spring without immediately thinking of him, how the scent almost covered up the smell of wheel grease from his work. It is a core memory that I have always held and that I now have even closer.’
Her message ended with, “Daddy, I love you forever, thank you for the million laughs, for the father-daughter dancing all the way through life and for the love you gave us,” and she touchingly signed off, “Love, your little girl.”
