Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney FINALLY open sandwich shop Something About Her with star- studded soft launch attended by Andy Cohen, Stassi Schroeder, and more
After years of delays, Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are finally opening their sandwich shop Something About Her.
The new West Hollywood eatery held its soft launch on Friday night and a bevy of stars from the Bravo world and the Vanderpump universe were on hand to help the ladies celebrate.
Andy Cohen stopped by, which seemed to surprise Katie and Ariana. VPR alumnus Stassi Schroeder and her husband Beau Clark also stopped by to show their support.
Kristen Doute, formerly of VPR and currently of The Valley, attended with her co-star Janet Caperna. Katie’s mother Teri Maloney and Ariana’s boyfriend Daniel Wai also showed their support.
The sandwich shop has been in the works for more than two years and will finally have a grand opening on May 22 at 10 a.m. at the location at 649 N Robertson Boulevard.

The interior of the store may look familiar to fans of romantic comedies.
“It was designed by Jon Hutman, Nancy Meyers’ production designer. Huge flex,” Katie said a music video for Bravo.
“That was the whole inspiration for this sandwich shop in general. We wanted it to feel like the energy of the main character in a romantic comedy.”
Ariana explained, “We also wanted it to feel us. We wanted it to have a very Californian yet European feel,” while Katie added, “California country meets European cafe.”
On May 16, Katie shared a photo of the restaurant and declared, “We have an awning!”, revealing that they had been given permission to put the bright and cheerful yellow and white awning back up.
One co-star who didn’t show up (alongside their exes Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz) was Lala Kent. Katie and Lala had it out during the Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion.
Lala claimed that before the season, Katie talked off-camera about how Ariana “left her at the deli” and “didn’t catch up on her deli rent.”
Katie admitted that she wished Ariana had given her a quick heads-up about the fact that she was going to New York City to star in a Broadway show.
Lala said Katie made her look like the enemy.
“I think there were a few people in here who lived in the comments section all season,” Lala said. “Katie’s one of them.”
Andy asked if she thought their reaction was how the viewers reacted to them.
“It’s no secret that Ariana is a fan favorite, right?” Lala said. ‘You don’t interfere with that. And I understand that.’

Katie said she didn’t want to take it to Ariana, so she turned to Lala, as a friend, to vent.
Lala said Katie had lost her mind and said she wouldn’t say anything critical about Ariana or how things went last summer because she had invested a lot of money in the sandwich shop.
“And you said to me, ‘If you’re going to mess with my business, Lala, I’m going to mess with yours,’” Lala added.
“And honest to God, I wanted to tell you that Something About Her right now is actually Nothing About Her. You don’t have a business, and mine is my livelihood that supports my child, so how dare you threaten to mess with it,” Lala said.
