Valerie Bertinelli, 63, reveals she has taken up Pilates as it makes her feel ‘so much better about myself’… after losing 10lbs by eschewing alcohol

Valerie Bertinelli started Pilates during her health journey.

The star shared on social media on Thursday that she feels so much better about herself after a workout.

The One Day At A Time actress, who says she no longer counts calories, shared a video of her Pilates workout with her 1.5 million fans.

The 63-year-old Hot In Cleveland star shows off how she uses a reformer – a platform that moves on wheels and pullies – and wore a comfortable-looking gray T-shirt with a picture of a cat and coffee on it and a black and green camo leggings for her fitness routine.

She wore little makeup and pulled her shoulder-length hair into a high bun.

'Exercise is not just for your body. It can also soothe your soul,” the Food Network star explained alongside the clip after revealing earlier this year that she lost 10 pounds by quitting alcohol.

Closing the video, the actress said, “No matter how hard it is to get there, I always feel so much better about myself when I'm done.”

“Thank you, Grace!” she added, referring to the instructor and owner of Grace Anatomy Pilates in Los Angeles' Studio City neighborhood.

Friend Faith Ford responded with an enthusiastic “Yes and Yes!!!”

Most of the comments about Valerie's training were positive, but one nasty troll made a harsh comment about the Signed, Sealed, Delivered actress' efforts.

“You need many, many more hours and much less food to make it work, honey. LoL,” the post.

The Claire star graciously responded with, “I've had much worse things said to me from someone I thought loved me and had my support.

'I have done so many healings in the past year that your words cannot even touch me. Have a blessed day, dear. LOL.'

In another recent video titled “Aging is such a trip,” Valerie talked about some of the challenges that come with growing older.

'I actually spent more time young than when I was old, so I'm adapting a bit.

'My body is definitely adapting. I mean, I can still jog up the stairs, but I can't run upstairs. I can still do a nice, deep squat, but I have to hold on to something to pull myself back up.”

She also referred to parts of her body that were sagging, including her neck and forearm. “I'm having a hard time dealing with this aging thing, right? 'Cause in my head I'm still so young, crazy, let's have fun… girl.

She admits she doesn't want to have the brain she had in her 20s, 30s and 40s because she's “so grateful for what I've been through,” but as she's gotten older, she says, “It's just mind-boggling !'

Valerie is celebrating her 64th birthday (April 23) a little early with the publication of her new cookbook Indulge, on April 2.
