Usman Khawaja’s VERY cheeky sledding on Scott Boland when the fast bowler first joined the Test squad is revealed in new documentary

  • Usman Khawaja produced an alpha moving moment over Scott Boland in 2021
  • It was when Quick made his dream Test debut at the MCG against England.
  • It was all revealed in Amazon Prime’s viewing of the documentary ‘The Test’ on Monday.
  • Boland had the last laugh, then catching 6/7 with the ball in unforgettable scenes

Usman Khawaja is renowned for his left-field humour, so when cult hero Scott Boland made his Test debut against England at the MCG in 2021, the popular Victorian was put in his place.

As revealed via an Amazon Prime screening ‘The proof’ documentary on Monday, the reserve opening batsman made Boland well aware of the pecking order in the Australian dressing room at the time.

When Boland entered the locker room and sat down before the Boxing Day test, the alpha male Khawaja “made” him move from his seat.

The humble Boland moved quickly without a hitch, much to the amusement of his teammates.

“Scotty was sitting down and Uzzie walked in and said, ‘Dude Scotty, come on,'” firebrand Mitch Swepson recalled.

Usman Khawaja is renowned for his sense of humour, and when Scott Boland made his Test debut against England at the MCG in 2021, the hometown hero was put in his place by the opening batsman.

Despite the Khawaja alpha male continuing to feature in the Australian locker room, Boland got the last laugh, scoring an incredible 6/7 on home soil in a dream Test debut.

Scotty is now near the coffee machine instead of where he was.

The poor guy is debuting and Uzzie isn’t even playing. Standard Usman, really.

Boland got the last laugh, and the Victorian pacemaker later went on to score an incredible 6/7 on home ground in a dream debut at Ashes.

The 33-year-old took 25 wickets in five Tests, leaving him with a remarkable bowling average of 10.36.

Boland is also the second male Aboriginal player to have represented Australia, after Jason Gillespie.

Ricky Ponting labeled Scott Boland “the luckiest cricketer to ever play for Australia” earlier this month.

Boland is off to a great start to his Test career, racking up incredible figures for Australia, including 6/7 on his debut against England in 2021.

But Ponting believes that Boland’s good performances are due to good luck rather than skill.

Earlier this month, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting declared that Boland “is actually the luckiest cricketer to ever represent Australia.”

“Some of the wickets he’s played in, you’d still have wickets today,” he said.

“Boland’s record is outstanding, but the cold hard facts are that he was not in Australia’s top three fast bowlers at the start of the summer.”

It followed Boland being passed over by the selectors for the recent Third Test against South Africa at the SCG.
