Some fans expressed skepticism on Sunday after Usher’s entire X/ Twitter account was temporarily deleted, shortly after the arrest of his mentor Sean “Diddy” Combs on Monday on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
The eight-time Grammy winner, 45, said in a post Sunday: “Account was hacked and damn it, y’all ran with it! See you tonight at Intuit Dome.”
Several users commented in the thread on the Dallas resident, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, saying the timing seemed too coincidental.
“You seriously think we’re stupid,” one user said, while another added: “What?? Lol timing is JUST a coincidence huh?”
Another told the Yeah! singer: “Sure bro, sure,” while another asked: “Did your account really get hacked or are you not telling us something?”

The eight-time Grammy winner, 45, said in a post on Sunday: “Account was hacked and damn it, you guys ran away with it! See you tonight at the Intuit Dome.”
According to one user, the apology was “a perfect excuse,” while another said, “That account wasn’t hacked, babe.”
According to one user, the deletion of his account could be a harbinger of trouble for the star, following the arrest of his musical mentor.
“Good coverage,” the user said. “For now. The first domino has been activated. Now we watch as you all fall.
One user defended Usher by saying, “I’ve been posting EVERYWHERE on Twitter that your account has been hacked and these people are spreading fake news, COME ON KING!”
Usher was not directly accused of criminal conduct in the case against Combs.
In a lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard, Usher was accused of being present (along with Ne-Yo) while Combs physically abused his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Usher and Diddy’s relationship spans decades: Combs was an executive producer on Usher’s first album, 1994’s Usher, and he lived with Diddy as a teenager while learning the trade in the 1990s.
“You’d open a door and see someone doing it, or multiple people in a room having an orgy,” Usher said Rolling Stone in 2004. ‘You never knew what was going to happen.’

He said in the chat that there were “always girls around,” but that he had never had “a girl around” until he was 19, in 1997: “I just did it until I felt the girl was feeling good, and then I stopped.”
Usher told Howard Stern in 2016 that “some really weird things happened” during the time he lived with Diddy.
“I got a chance to see some things,” Usher said. “I went there to see the lifestyle, and I saw it. I don’t know if I could surrender to it and understand what I was looking at. I was curious myself. I just didn’t understand it. It was pretty wild. It was crazy.”
Usher is currently on his Past Present Future tour. He is scheduled to perform in North American locations including Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles through the end of the year, with the Atlanta performances closing out that leg of his tour.
He will kick off the European leg of his tour in London at the O2 Arena, which begins on March 29. He has eight shows scheduled at the venue, and will then visit cities including Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin before returning to London in May to conclude the tour.
The singer announced late last year that he would be going on tour after completing My Way: The Las Vegas Residency.
It’s been a busy year for the stalwart R&B star, who headlined halftime at Super Bowl LVIII, performing with the likes of Alicia Keys, will.i.am, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris and HER in Las Vegas.
