Usher is the headline act of the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas – with the NFL announcement coming in a video with Kim Kardashian

Usher has been announced to headline the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas.

The match – one of the most iconic events on the American sporting calendar – is scheduled for February 11.

The announcement came in a video with Kim Kardashian referencing his Confessions Part II video, in which she calls him up to tell him the news while the R&B star is recording music in the studio.

“It is the honor of a lifetime to finally cross a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement. “I can’t wait to give the world a show unlike anything they’ve seen from me before.

“Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity possible. I’ll see you very soon.’

Usher has been announced to headline the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show

The announcement came via a video with Kim Kardashian on Sunday morning

Usher follows Rihanna, who impressed this year with her own incredible performance in Arizona in February. It was later reported that it was the most watched halftime show in Super Bowl history.

In the video confirming Sunday morning’s news, Usher uses the same footage from the Confessions II video, one of his biggest hits of all time from 2009.

He appears at the beginning and is writing lyrics when his phone rings. He answers and says he will call whoever it is back.

“Wait, can you talk? It’s Kim!’ Kardashian says as she gets her makeup done today. ‘I finally have the answers to those rumors. It’s not about me, it’s about you. You’re in the Super Bowl!’

“You’re playing with me,” Usher says back.

“You’re playing Apple Music’s halftime show in Vegas,” she continues. ‘I don’t have time to play. One: I’m busy. Second, you’re in the Super Bowl.”

‘Are you serious? How do you know that,” Usher replies.

‘I know everything. I saw you twice in Vegas. This one has to be different,” she says.

Kardashian once missed an Usher show because her plane couldn’t land due to dangerous winds.
