USA get tricky Copa America group against Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia – and could meet Brazil in the quarterfinals

Copa America hosts United States will face Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia in their group in next summer's Copa America – and could face Brazil in the quarter-finals if they progress from the group.

Uruguay were the only team that coach Gregg Berhalter had wanted to avoid, but will play them last in their group – possibly with their place in the knockout stages already settled.

Berhalter's men start the tournament on Sunday, June 23 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas against Bolivia.

Four days later they are in Atlanta for the match against Group C rival Panama at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

They round out the group in Kansas City and play Uruguay at Arrowhead Stadium, which could very well be a play-off to avoid Brazil in the next round.

If they win Group C, they will face the runners-up in Group D from what will almost certainly be a Neymar-less Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay and Jamaica.

The tournament will be an important benchmark for the US ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which the country will host alongside Canada and Mexico.

Failing to get out of this group would be a disaster for Berhalter, even if Uruguay is lurking.
