USA basketball fans declare 2024 Olympics semifinal the ‘greatest game ever’ after stunning comeback vs Serbia
American basketball fans are calling the Olympic semi-final victory over Serbia the “best game ever” after the Americans overcame a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
Serbia led for most of the match, but Team USA’s strong final 10 minutes proved too much for the European underdog.
The trio of Steph Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant all shined late in the game, leading the United States to a 95-91 victory.
Team USA defeated Serbia 32-15 in the fourth quarter, with the Serbs’ excellent shooting cooling them down enough to give the Americans a shot at the gold medal.

‘GO HOME SERBIA, TATUM IS NOT PLAYING AND USA WINS. KD DAGGER, LEBRON THE GOAT, CURRY THE GREATEST SHOOTER EVER,’ someone wrote on X.
“Serbia dominated the US for 95% of the game and then something amazing like basketball happened, oh my god,” continued one US basketball fan.
“US vs. Serbia is the best basketball game I’ve ever seen, right after (Warriors vs. Rockets) 2017,” concluded another basketball fan.

The U.S. team advances to the gold medal match against host France on Saturday afternoon.
The French defeated Germany on Thursday to become the first host country to win a medal in men’s basketball since the United States did so in 1996.
Playing a true away game in an Olympic final will be another tough test for one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled.
However, not all American fans were equally positive about the match.
“It’s kind of funny to see the US basketball team acting like this is so much emotion. They can barely beat Serbia with 10 of the best 15 players in the world playing for them. It’s actually kind of embarrassing. But congratulations USA. You get the gold. You make us so proud,” said one social media user.
“I would have loved to watch that Serbia-USA game in a room with MJ, Bird, Magic and Barkley. Listen to what they say about the current team,” said another US basketball fan.
