The United States reached the final of the CONCACAF Nations League on Thursday evening by beating rivals Mexico 3-0.
As expected, the semifinal was a tough affair, but BJ Callaghan’s squad proved too strong at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was the interim manager’s first game in charge and Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the 37th minute.
The winger, who endured a difficult season at Chelsea in the Premier League, doubled his and his country’s lead straight after the break.
Ricardo Pepi added a third 12 minutes from time, but there was plenty of other action.
Four players saw red as tensions flared. Mexico’s Cesar Montes was the first to go followed by USMNT’s Weston McKennie and then Gerardo Arteaga and Sergino Dest were sacked in the 85th.
The match was stopped late due to discriminatory chanting.
