This fluke, shot by a wedding photographer, saved the married couple’s big day from being a disaster
- Bride lost the diamond from her ring
- It slipped off the tape during the reception
- The photographer took pictures of the missing stone
A photographer unwittingly captured the moment a bride’s diamond slipped out of her ring while shooting a couple’s lavish wedding.
Laura Palacois was recording the wedding of the Courtney and Michael couple when they realized the “giant” three-carat diamond was missing.
The photographer looked at her photos to see if she could pinpoint the moment when the stone fell out before one of the venue’s waiters found it and returned it to the sober but very grateful bride.
Neither Laura nor the newlyweds had any idea that the three-carat stone had come loose from the ring until they jumped into a pool during the evening’s finale.
Courtney and Michael frantically searched the pool while Laura went through her photos and noticed the rock had come loose while on the dance floor, where an employee quickly found it.

Laura shared the blunder in one video on TikTok as she zoomed in on Courtney’s ring finger to show the diamond in place, then suddenly gone.
“What the hell…” she captioned the clip, which quickly racked up more than 14.4 million views.
‘I gasped,’ a woman replied to which Laura replied, ‘Me. At.’
“The way my jaw dropped,” said a second viewer, and a third wrote, “I’d pass out.”
“Hopefully they have insurance,” added another.
Viewers were eager to know if Courtney was ever reunited with her impressive diamond, so Laura posted a update.

She said that one of the front desk employees found the stone between the slats on the dance floor.
The man returned the diamond to a cheering Michael and relieved Courtney who rewarded the waiter with a kiss.
Laura said the wedding ring mishap didn’t stop “the most iconic cool and composed bride and groom ever” from enjoying their evening.
That looked like a great party and what a great bride to still be partying and not let it ruin her night. good for her!!’ one viewer noticed.
“I would change that attitude very quickly. so glad they found it!!’ another joined in.
“That’s really a miracle to even find that,” someone else replied.
