Did the US Olympic team steal their uniform from one of Australia’s most elite private schools? See the uncanny similarity for yourself

The U.S. Olympic team will look to impress again this summer in Paris, with the dominant nation expected to challenge China in the medal count.

The team arrives in style in the French capital after teaming up with international fashion brand Ralph Lauren to dress the 592 athletes who will line up in Paris for the opening ceremony.

Team USA will be sailing on the Seine River in boats prior to the opening ceremony. They will be wearing a navy jacket with red and white piping, a striped Oxford shirt, a navy tie and light jeans.

However, astute social media commentator Miss Double Bay has pointed out, Team USA’s uniform bears a striking resemblance to the uniform of one of Australia’s most elite private schools.

Cranbook School is a male-only school in Sydney. Students wear navy blue uniforms with white and red piping, just like the new Team USA uniform.

The boys also wear navy blue ties, although the jersey is light blue, unlike Team USA’s striped variant.

“If I were Cranbook I’d call my lawyers,” she joked on Instagram.

NBA legend LeBron James will lead the team in Paris after being named the country’s official flag bearer during a ceremony on Friday.

“It is an incredible honor to represent the United States on this world stage, especially at a time when the entire world can come together,” James said.

“As a kid from Akron, this responsibility means everything, not just to me, but to my family, all the kids in my hometown, my teammates, fellow Olympians and so many people across the country with big aspirations. Sports has the power to bring us all together, and I’m proud to be a part of this important moment.”
