A US military plane crashed over the eastern Mediterranean on Friday night during a training operation.

The Stuttgart, Germany-based division did not say how many casualties there were, “out of respect for the families,” but said the plane did not crash as a result of an attack.
The Pentagon has not yet confirmed whether there were any casualties in Friday’s accident
EUCOM said in a statement: ‘Out of respect for the affected families, we will not be releasing any further information about the personnel involved at this time.
‘The cause of the training incident is currently under investigation.
“However, we can say with certainty that the aircraft flight was purely related to training and there is no evidence of hostile activity.
“We will provide more information as the situation develops.”
EUCOM consists of 65,000 permanent military personnel responsible for U.S. military operations throughout Europe, parts of Asia and the Middle East, the Arctic and the Atlantic Ocean.
