Urgent ‘do not eat’ alert for baked beans sold at major supermarkets over fears tins may contain rubber balls
Baked beans sold in major supermarkets are being urgently recalled over fears they could contain small rubber balls.
Own brand products at Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco are affected, as is one type Branston's.
Food safety chiefs have urged Brits who bought the cans not to eat them.
There are concerns that the balls, which are believed to be about an inch in diameter, could pose a choking hazard.

Two types are baked beans in tomato sauce, while another two are baked bean and sausage combinations.
The other is cans of mixed bean salads.
They all have a best before date between November 2025 and October 2027. The recall only affects specific batch codes and is not general.
As far as we know, no other products are affected.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA), which issued the warning, said: 'If you have purchased the above products, do not eat them.
'Instead, return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
'If you require further information, please contact customer service for the relevant brands listed in the recall notices.'
The rubber balls are used as part of the bean production process.
It comes after Tesco recalled a batch of its own brand Christmas stuffing mix earlier this week due to the 'possible presence of moths'.
Contamination of the 130g packs of Tesco Finest Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix made them 'unfit for human consumption', the retailer warned.
