A UPS driver was determined to deliver packages in Maine despite widespread flooding across the state.
Jody Churchill shared a photo on Facebook on Dec. 19 of UPS driver Ryan Long crossing a washed-out section of Pond Road in Mercer in a boat.
'UPS – Whatever It Takes! Washing away does not stop the delivery of presents,” Churchill wrote.
Long's boat trip comes after Maine was hit by heavy wind and rain a day earlier.
Hundreds of homeowners were left without power, and residents have posted photos and videos on social media of themselves using boats instead of cars.

Mercer is a small town in central Maine and was significantly affected by the rain.
Long, who successfully drove the truck until it reached Pond Road during a recent delivery, was concerned about not being able to deliver packages to homes on a damaged road.
It was then that Long spotted the boat at a nearby home that neighbors have now dubbed Butch's Courtesy Ferry.
A woman who owns the boat told me Total coverage of Maine she and her husband use it to go to work.
The UPS worker borrowed the boat and after getting help from three other neighbors, successfully delivered all the packages.

Most Instagram users have commented that Long deserves a raise or holiday bonus for what he has done.
Facebook users are also praising his mother for raising “a beautiful person,” and she couldn't be more proud of him.
