Unstoppable trailer: Jennifer Lopez pulls off an Oscar-worthy performance in her ex Ben Affleck’s film

The first trailer for the new film Unstoppable was shared on Wednesday.

The clip stars Jennifer Lopez as the struggling mother Judy Robles of an athlete who doesn’t let the disability of being born with one leg hinder her.

The movie icon dazzled as she screamed, cried and brought out some of her Bronx tude.

“I won’t let him quit wrestling and I won’t let him quit school,” Lopez screams at those who don’t believe in her son.

‘When they see you, they don’t see someone missing a leg, but someone who is unstoppable. You can show them that anything is possible,” adds scene-stealer Lopez.

Jenny From The Block is already getting a lot of Oscar buzz for her performance, as she may land in the Best Supporting Actress category.

The film hits theaters on December 6 and will be available on Prime on January 16.

In the sports biopic, produced by Lopez’s ex Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Jharrel Jerome plays real-life wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg.

Lopez helps her son believe in himself.

“You can show them that anything is possible,” Lopez’s mother tells her son.

Lopez is seen throughout the trailer – at home, with her husband (played by Bobby Cannavale, 54), watching wrestling matches.

And a quote from Deadline about Jennifer’s incredible performance – called ‘standout’ – is also shared on screen.

All signs point to Jennifer joining the 2025 Oscar race.

Lopez has never been nominated for an Academy Award, but has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy Award.

Although Lopez is a major highlight of the film, the main focus is on the wrestler.

He was born in Arizona and wants to become the greatest wrestler in the world.

“Why are you struggling?” asks Anthony’s coach Bobby Williams, played by Michael Peña, in the trailer.

“When people look at me, the first thing they see is what’s missing,” answers Anthony of Jerome. “If I win, having one leg won’t be the most important thing about me.”

Lopez’s ex Affleck has co-produced with boyfriend Matt Damon for their production company Artists Equity.

The film is directed by William Goldenberg.

Lopez, 55, told People that playing one half of a “dysfunctional and unhealthy” couple felt “very cathartic.”

She added, “Women who are mothers and get into relationships, and you struggle with it, and you get into a dynamic that’s not healthy, but you care about the person, love the person… That’s that complicated dynamic of life which I understand very well.’

Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on August 20 after two years of marriage.
