Manchester United began negotiations with Felix’s team earlier in the summer as they looked to lure him to Old Trafford.
Erik Ten Hag was hoping the forward would be interested in linking up with his side after earmarking him as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo – who’s future at the club is still hanging in the balance.
However, Atletico have explained how they had no plans to part ways with their ‘franchise’ players during the 2022-2023 campaign.
A number of news outlets subsequently reported that United had tabled an offer of £110m to sway the LaLiga giants.

Felix joined Atletico from Benfica in 2019 for £113million. He took a while to find his grove with Diego Simeone’s side but began to settle in soon after penning a seven-year.
During the 2021-2022 season, Felix scored 10 goals in 35 appearances, matching the same goal tally from the campaign before.
Alvaro Morata heaped praise on Felix and explained how he loved playing alongside his team-mate at Atletico.
‘The truth is that Joao has a special talent, that last pass. Although also Correa, Lemar, Marcos, Koke… the people behind put up great balls and we have to keep working and run into space,’ he told reporters.
‘I really want to play here, work, play games, there are many competitions and I’m very excited for this season, but as always here.

While Felix said he had no intention of leaving Atletico this summer and that he was ‘focused’ on his future with the LaLiga giants.
‘A departure from Atletico is not on the table,’ Felix told Marca. ‘I’m fine and focused on Atletico. I’m calm about the future, aware of what I can do and I’m fine with myself.’
