United Airline’s bizarre explanation for booting mom and 16-month-old son off flight as passenger claims it was because she misgendered a staff member
United Airlines has offered a bizarre explanation as to why a mother and her 16-month-old son were ejected from one of their planes after she claimed she was banned for misapproaching a flight attendant.
Jenna Longoria was not allowed to board Austin’s flight from San Francisco on Wednesday after an altercation with staff.
She claimed the incident started after she “accidentally” used the wrong pronouns for a flight attendant and ended with her, her mother and young son all being kicked off the flight.
However, United Airlines has since discredited its version of events by issuing a statement about what happened.
“A party of three traveling from San Francisco today was prevented from boarding after a discussion about carrying too much carry-on luggage,” a spokesperson said.
Jenna Longoria accused United Airlines of blocking her and her mother from flying from San Francisco to Houston on Wednesday after she used the wrong pronoun for flight attendant
“The matter was resolved and the customers took a later United flight to complete their trip.”
However, before she was apparently rebooked, Longoria took to Instagram to speak out about the situation.
“They’re saying it’s a hate crime I committed and I might not even be able to fly United again,” she fumed in one clip.
‘I’ll tell you now what happened. I got one of the flight attendant pronouns wrong and the other flight attendant didn’t like it,” Longoria explained.
‘I said, “I’m really sorry, I’m not very good with pronouns.” I was holding my son, he was having a tantrum, I had the car seat on my back.
“I wasn’t focusing on anything other than getting my son’s car seat on the plane and getting him comfortable.”
But the airline has since said the dispute started after a conversation about having too much carry-on luggage
The mother claimed the flight left without her, but with her luggage containing medications still on board
Even in her videos, it seemed like there was more to it. For example, a United Airlines employee suggested that Longoria had done more than just confuse pronouns.
In the clip, she is seen talking to a United staffer who tells her it was the captain’s decision to deny her from the flight because of “what came out of your mouth.”
The employee also tells her, “I heard more,” in addition to the pronoun error.
“They basically said bad luck and they won’t tell me exactly what I said,” Longoria said.
In another clip, the desperate mother is seen pleading with her 20,000 Instagram followers for advice on what her rights are.
“We don’t know how we’re going to get back today,” she said. “I don’t know what to do, I really don’t know what to do.”
DailyMail.com has contacted Longoria for comment.
