Unborn baby in ICU nurse horror crash was almost full term and was torn from mom’s uterus

The unborn baby killed in a horror car crash in Los Angeles last week was nearly full-term and was ripped from his mother’s uterus when a ‘mentally ill’ ICU nurse plowed into their vehicle at ferocious speed.
Asherey Ryan was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her second son, Armani Lester, when she was killed along with Armani and her one-year-old son, Alonzo, on August 4.
Armani’s father, Reynold Lester, was also killed in the crash, along with two women in a different vehicle who are yet to be named.
ICU nurse Nicole Linton was filmed by surveillance cameras plowing her vehicle at high speed through a red light and into the busy intersection.
It immediately split the other family’s vehicle in half. Alonzo was sent flying through the air in his car seat.

ICU nurse Nicole Linton has been charged with six counts of murder
Linton, 37, has been charged with six counts of murder including one for the death of the unborn baby.
The coroner ruled that he was both born and died in the crash before he was ripped from his mother’s body.
Luis Quintero, Alonzo’s father, shared his grief on Monday.
‘He was full of joy, very excited.
‘I loved when he gripped his hands, when he would kick his legs from excitement… now I’ll never see him again.’
He said he wants Linton – who prosecutors say was involved in 13 prior crashes – to be brought to justice.
‘I want to see that justice is made. Something for her, payback for what she’s done.
‘Maybe then I can forgive her. But not now. She took my son away from me. And I will never see him.’
The family is now raising money for funeral services on a GoFundMe page. They have raised more than $163,000 so far.
Linton’s attorney said her mental health would have contributed to the crash, and asked for her arraignment to be delayed until October.
She did not have drugs or alcohol in her system, and her motive for running the red light and ploughing through the intersection remains unclear.

Prosecutors also revealed in court that Linton was involved in 13 prior road accidents, including one in 2020 in which two vehicles were totaled.
DailyMail.com obtained crash records from two incidents in Texas – one in 2013 and one in 2016.
In both cases, another driver rear-ended her vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol declined to provide further details of any of the crashes.
It remains unclear why Linton was able to work in healthcare, let alone in the ICU, with the extensive mental health problems as her attorney described. She held as many as six nursing jobs across five states in the last two years.
Linton is from Houston, Texas, and was in Los Angeles working as a contractor at the Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Hospital. She was working for the nursing contractor group AMN Healthcare, which she joined in October 2020.

AMN Healthcare refused to comment on what kind of background checks were performed when she was first given a job with them.
‘At this time, we are not able to comment on an active criminal investigation. Any further questions should be forwarded to law enforcement authorities,’ a spokesman said.
Until 2009, Linton was working as a sales manager for General Motors, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She began working in healthcare in 2010 as an ‘extern’ at NYU, despite not completing her nursing degree in 2015.
Asherey, Renald, and little Alonzo were on their way to a doctor’s appointment for a pregnancy check-up when Linton smashed into the car they were traveling in. Their car was ripped in two on impact.
‘A young family was destroyed in the blink of an eye,’ Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón said Monday.
‘There’s catastrophic damage to the families and friends of those killed and injured.
‘It’s not only a tremendous loss to their families, but to our entire community, who learned of this incredible tragedy who watched the now viral video of the collision.’
Two other women remain unidentified. No one from Linton’s family has yet spoken out.
