An unassuming Kmart product sold out online in record time after customers pointed out that the design mimicked other products that sell for hundreds of dollars more.
The $35 circular scalloped mirror arrived online and in-store as the Australian retailer launched its home decor collection for 2023.
“Add a beautiful yet striking wall accent to your living room or bedroom with this circular scalloped mirror,” the description on Kmart’s website read.
Those who were lucky enough to purchase it as soon as it went on sale raved about the quality of the design and how decorative it looks in a nondescript space.

“Kmart home decor has changed lately,” one woman wrote on TikTok.
“Slaymart is back at it,” said another.
While a third added: “Kmart is in its killing age.”
Other items to match the mirror include a $6 jewelry divider, a decorative Wave Pedestal bowl, also $6, and several ‘soft arch’ vases reminiscent of products you might find in Greece.
‘I used to love this vase, but it was too big for my space. The quality was good though, it looks like an expensive piece of art,” one woman wrote on the website.
“Kmart home decor has been different lately,” one woman wrote on TikTok.
‘This vase was just what I wanted to finish off my decor in the living room. Well done Kmart shoppers for making the right choice,” said another.
The $29 Display Grotto is drawing a lot of interest due to its ability to hold everything from candles to keys, which can be easily mounted on the wall.
