Umar Kamani, the founder of PrettyLittleThing, is stepping down as CEO after ten years.

The businessman, 35, who founded the fashion company in 2012 with his brother Adam, has overseen PLT’s explosive growth from a humble market stall in Manchester to a global brand now worth an estimated £3.8 billion.

PrettyLittleThing has become known for its celebrity collaborators, including Kylie Jenner and Molly-Mae Hague, who is also the creative director.

In 2020, Kamani sold his remaining 34 percent stake in PLT to Boohoo, which is run by his father Mahmud.

Kamani would be ready for a new challenge. A source said: ‘It won’t be long before he sets his sights on his next adventure.

“He leaves a very happy man after achieving extraordinary success.”
