Ulrika Jonsson has defended Molly-Mae Hague after she spent £8K on her newborn daughter Bambi’s cot and came under fire over the baby’s name.
The 55-year-old TV presenter slammed people who criticized the 23-year-old influencer for their ‘envy’ and said she has the right to spend her money as she pleases.
Molly-Mae, who welcomed her first child with partner Tommy Fury last month, left fans in awe when she announced her newborn’s name with a photo of the luxurious crib.
Writing in his column for Sun, Ulrika wrote: ‘She’s being trolled for calling the newborn Bambi, but I’m thinking, why not? It’s sweet enough.
Of course, much of the criticism is based on envy. Molly-Mae has the right to do whatever she wants with her money.
Support: Ulrika Jonsson, 55, defended Molly-Mae Hague, 23, after she spent £8K on her newborn daughter Bambi’s cot and was criticized for the baby’s name.
She continued: “Mere mortals can only dream of a nursery like little Bambi’s, who will be completely oblivious to the overindulgence that surrounds her.”
Ulrika went on to explain that it reminded her of welcoming her first child and feeling that everything had to be perfect.
Earlier this week, Molly-Mae shared a snap of her baby’s name in light-up letters overlooking her little girl in her crib, having previously admitted some fans would ‘hate’ it.
The nude-decorated newborn’s room was on full display, as the room featured a clear acrylic cradle at its center.
But after doing some digging after the snap, fans of the 23-year-old were shocked to discover that the crib retails for a whopping £8,000.
When Molly-Mae announced her newborn’s name with a snapshot of the nursery and the nickname in neon, one fan took to TikTok to share a video investigating the crib.
The user revealed that the cot is currently priced at £8,189.28, with a 40 per cent saving on Homeloft’s website, which noted down its previous price of £13,536.00.
And it looks like the former Love Island star took some inspiration from reality royalty, as Kim Kardashian and her famous sisters have been known to wear the same one for their pups.
