Ulrika Jonsson, 56, reveals shocking reason why her latest ‘mature’ suitor ‘wished he’d never met her’ after ill-fated date: ‘Shame on you!’

Ulrika Jonsson has given an update on her love life – declaring that her latest romantic interest should be ’embarrassed’ by his behaviour.

The TV legend, 56, who has been extremely candid about her dating life, took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal her last date was postponed by her son Malcolm, 15.

She shared a selfie on Instagram and wrote a caption about it: “To the ‘grown’ man who told me after we met that if he had known I had a 15 year old son living with me, he ‘might’ didn’t meet me #shameonyou’.

Ulrika is also mother to Cameron Oskar George Turnbull, 28, Bo Eva Coeur Jonsson, 23, and Martha Sky Hope Gerrard-Wright, 19. She split from her third husband, advertising executive Brian Monet, in 2019 after 11 years of marriage.

She previously revealed that she was going to ask her ex for ‘permission’ to have sex, saying: ‘Just before my 50th birthday I remember thinking that maybe I should just accept that I would never have sex again…

‘The reason I thought this is because I hadn’t had sex in four and a half years. And the time before that was four years earlier. I lived in a sexless marriage for almost ten years. It felt like part of my life was over.

The news comes after Ulrika criticized Davina McCall’s new dating show My Mum, Your Dad for playing it safe and not being ‘glamorous’ enough.

The new ITV programme, which started on Monday, sees eight single parents arrive at a country house in West Sussex in a bid to find their second chance at love.

And there’s a huge twist when their adult children are told that they will watch their parents’ every move from a nearby bunker and play matchmaker for two weeks.

But Ulrika criticized the show’s concept ahead of its launch, arguing that single parents don’t need their children to control their dating lives.

She said the concept sends a shiver down her spine when she thinks about handing over the reins of dating to her children.

Ulrika said it is “bad luck” if her children don’t approve of her dating decisions as she called for more excitement on the dating show.

She wrote inside The sun: ‘(My children) may not like me going out or some of the choices I make, but that’s just bad luck, I’ve dedicated the last 30 years to them – now it’s my time.

“Just the thought of one, or all, of them having to decide who I date sends a shiver down my spine.”

Ulrika criticized My Mother, Your Father for being too safe, saying her children would probably choose a “boring Derek” for her, rather than a “heartbreaking” romance.

She continued, β€œI want someone who will set my world on fire and be willing to go skinny dipping with me at stupid hours.

‘I rage against the persistent narrative that once we get halfway through life, all we want is a quiet life. We do not.’

She called for more “glitz and glamour” in the show, while calling for a more vibrant dating show for middle-aged people, arguing that the concept is “patronising”.

Ulrika has been single since her 2019 divorce from third husband Brian Monet after the couple split after ten years together. They have one son, Malcolm.
