Ukrainian refugee to return to war-torn nation after splitting from British lover Tony Garnett

The refugee dumped by her British lover after leaving his partner and two children behind is packing her bags and returning to Ukraine after rejecting her latest offer for a reunion late last night.
The British father of two, Tony Garnett, told 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym that there was no chance they would ever be a couple again and that he wanted to “move on with my life”.
The former couple spoke for the first time since police arrested her after a drunken argument in which she slammed a kitchen knife into a wall last weekend and Tony stated he would end the relationship.
Tony, who began a four-month affair with the refugee 10 days after she moved into the family home he shared with his partner Lorna and two young daughters, told an anguished Sofia that her mother also demanded that she return to Ukraine.
Her mother Katerina told Tony: ‘In love everyone has their own destiny. We weren’t happy at first, but she said she loved you and that this was a serious relationship. But it’s over. We’d like her to come home.’

Sofia has been arrested twice and warned by the police not to approach or contact her former lover.
But Tony agreed to call her after hearing she was in tears at her temporary accommodation as the Interior Ministry and Ukrainian officials decide what her next step should be.
Tony, from Bradford, said, ‘I’m not heartless. I do feel sorry for her. But relationships come to an end and this one is over. I hope we can be friends when all this hysteria has died down.

“I spoke to her last night and told her there was absolutely no chance that we would get back together.
“Sometimes you have to be cruel to be nice. She will be much better off in Ukraine or if she gets into a new relationship, good luck to her.”
Sofia said she wouldn’t give up on Tony despite his rejection of her.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, she told MailOnline: “I’m glad he’s talking to me again. I didn’t want to break up with just a message he sent me.
“It’s a very difficult time for me because I love him very much. I can’t let go so easily and I’m lost here with no friends or family.
“I told him I’ll never drink again and that we can live happily together if he gives me one more chance.
“But he refuses and I don’t know what to do now.
‘Maybe I should go back to Ukraine, because I can’t live like this much longer. My family wants me back.
“Tony told me that last night. But I don’t know what my future will be, because my country is at war and it could get worse there.
‘I have found England such a beautiful place with nice people. I feel safe here. But I feel better when I’m with Tony. ‘

Tony Garnett, 29, who left his 10-year partner for Sofia after living with them for 10 days, broke up with her over allegations of excessive drinking. She promised not to drink alcohol at all if they flared up again, but he refused
She revealed that a millionaire with a house in London found her on social media and offered her a place to stay and told her he had a gym she could use.
But she added: ‘I don’t know this man. It sounds too weird. He says he is a millionaire. But that doesn’t tell me anything. Tony is worth many, many millions.’
Tony also revealed that he had received dozens of internet offers of new love from women who liked him, including two models in Dublin and a tattoo artist in Yorkshire.
But he said, ‘I just need some me-time. I thought I was going to marry Sofia, but that’s gone now too.
“I’m quite thin because I haven’t been able to work and now that I have a public profile, security work is much harder.
‘I’ve been on television, in newspapers and on magazine covers. People who work in security have to keep their heads up. I can’t now.

“I need some rest and to see my daughters when the courts revoke the no-molecular warrant against me that Lorna has given me.”
Lorna told Mailonline that she had asked her lawyers to ask a family court judge next week to lift the warrant so he can see his children and get them out.
Lorna said, “He’s a very good father. He loves his children. And while I don’t want to be back with him, he doesn’t want to go back to Sofiia and that makes it a lot easier for all of us.
“She’d better go back to her own family. She destroyed mine.’
