Israel Adesanya appeared to be involved in a road rage incident after video footage emerged showing the UFC superstar spitting at another driver.

Adesanya, 35, is reportedly back home in New Zealand after losing his comeback fight to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in Perth last month.

The Last Stylebender missed out on the chance to regain his world middleweight title and left his future inside the Octagon in doubt after the fight, which he lost via submission.

Three weeks after the fight, footage circulated on social media showing Adesanya arguing with a civilian.

In the photo, Adesanya stands next to his all-black McLaren, with a personalised number plate that reads ‘KURAMA’, as he exchanges a word with a smaller figure dressed in a hoodie and shorts.

We hear the fighter tell the other man to “f*ck off” before opening the driver’s door of the supercar.

He then tells his fellow road user to “walk away” and “drive your old shit”, referring to the other man’s car, before calling him a “f***ing b***h” as the man flexes his biceps in front of him.

Adesanya then points his middle finger at the civilian and says, “Fight me, I pray you test me,” before spitting at the man’s feet and slamming his car door.

The person who shot the footage appears to be in a nearby car and drives away as Adesanya closes the car door, so it’s unclear what happened next.

It is not known when the alleged incident took place.

Earlier this year, Adesanya escaped conviction after appearing in court for drink-driving, pleading guilty in August 2023 to driving under the influence of alcohol.

The New Zealander was stopped by police in Auckland while driving his Bentley just before midnight. Officers noticed he was showing signs of drinking and he said he had had two cocktails with friends.

Adesanya, the former UFC middleweight champion, had a blood alcohol level of 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood.

In New Zealand, the legal limit for drivers over 20 years of age is 50 milligrams per 100 milliliters of blood.

At 87 mg, he faced a prison sentence of up to three months or a fine of up to $4,500.

But according to Stuff, Adesanya’s lawyer, Karl Trotter, pleaded with the judge not to send his client to prison, saying that sponsorship deals worth potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars were at stake for the fighter, who had taken a short break from MMA.

“So that’s the estimate we have,” said Trotter, who chose not to name potential sponsors.
