Merab Dvalishvili revealed he plans to train with Mark Zuckerberg after admitting he knew the latter would attend UFC 298 in Anaheim last Saturday.
The number 3 ranked UFC bantamweight said this on Monday TMZ that he had exchanged messages with the Facebook founder prior to the event. He also said Zuckerberg had asked him to keep his plans for the event secret.
“We follow each other on Instagram and he texted me before the fight that he was coming. He said to me, ‘Don’t tell anyone.’ Of course I can keep a secret,” Dvalishvili said. “I knew he was there, and when I walked out I saw him, of course, I said hi to him in person.”
Furthermore, the Georgian revealed that he plans to train with Zuckerberg in the future. The latter takes his martial arts training seriously and recently starred in rumors of an MMA fight with Elon Musk.
“We were planning to train together and he got injured and he is still recovering,” Dvalishvili said. “When we become training partners, we gain more confidence.”

Dvalishvili dominated former champion Henry Cejudo to earn a unanimous decision victory
“If he understands my (training) style and I understand his style, I’ll bring him into my corner. And no rush, because I’ve been here for (a) long time. I’m just getting better and better.’
Zuckerberg sat cageside as Dvalishvili dominated former champion Henry Cejudo in three rounds. At several points during the fight, Dvalishvili was seen talking to Zuckerberg as he worked toward a lopsided unanimous decision.
One of the most memorable moments of the fight came in round 3 when Dvalishvili carried Cejudo across the Octagon and punched him in front of Zuckerberg.
In addition to keeping a close eye on the fights, Zuckerberg also adapted and joined Alexander Volkanovski’s corner for the main event. Fans were quick to point out how clumsy he appeared as he cornered the Australian in his bizarre appearance.

Moments later, Alexander ‘The Great’ dropped his featherweight title after being knocked out in the second round by Ilia Topuria.
Dvalishvili’s performance at Cejudo improved his record to 17-4 and extended his win streak to ten fights.
After a decisive victory, Dvalishvili is expected to fight the winner between Sean O’Malley and Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera for the featherweight title. The two will compete again in the main event of UFC 299 in March.
