UFC star Jamahal Hill has SIX children, was charged with assaulting his brother in a row over cleaning his house for £250 and is out to silence fans mocking his physique on TikTok, as he prepares to headline historic UFC 300 event
One of the UFC’s most colorful characters, Jamahal Hill, will have the eyes of the world on him on Saturday night.
The tricentennial event, UFC 300, is a milestone in the history of the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion and few would have predicted that Hill would be one half of the main event against fearsome champion Alex Pereira.
The 32-year-old American is immensely talented in the cage, there’s no doubt about that, but lately it’s been his life outside the cage that has been drawing attention to him.
Hill combines the demands of a top athlete with an incredibly busy family life.
He is a loving father of six children, ranging from five to seventeen years old, and regularly shares photos of them on his Instagram, which has 354,000 followers. That number is sure to rise with a massive performance on the biggest stages in Las Vegas this weekend.

Hill is believed to be dating Adaire Byerly, who describes himself as a “combat personality, analyst, podcast host and model” and the pair often post entertaining sketch videos online.
The UFC star’s brood isn’t exactly in awe of their fighting father’s success and he previously spoke about how they keep him humble.
“Honestly, they don’t really care,” he said in an interview with the UFC.
“I say to other people all the time – I’m out and everyone’s like, ‘Oh, UFC,’ this and that, and my kids just say, ‘I want a drink; can you get me some juice or?’ something?” They bring me back to reality very quickly.”
Hill, who became UFC champion last January by beating Glover Teixeira but had to give up the title due to an injury, also takes a family approach to his training and maintains a close circle.
He explained, “That’s it: they brought me here. I’m the type of person where I don’t look for all those extra little solutions that aren’t there. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
“There have been guys who did well on our team, they left and now they can’t get a win to save their lives.
“I stick with the people who know me, who know what I like, who know what I like to do, and I know they have my best interests at heart. I feel like you grow with the people who know you.’

But unfortunately, it was the family at Hill’s heart that made headlines last year for unsavory reasons.
In December, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his own brother and charged with aggravated domestic violence offense.
The alleged attack on his brother was so violent that he knocked out his sibling’s tooth, according to a probable cause statement obtained by Mail Sport at the time.
The alleged victim, James Hill Jr., told officers at a hospital in Kentwood, Michigan that Jamahal attacked him on November 25.
The UFC fighter is said to have knocked down his brother twice – each time with just a single punch – and when the altercation was over, James was missing a tooth and left with a ‘very swollen’ left eye.
According to court documents, officials claim he killed his brother James Anthony Hill Jr. assaulted him and caused him ‘serious or aggravated injuries’.
Hill defended himself in a video at the time, saying: “I just can’t wait for the truth to be told in court and I will wait for that day and I look forward to that day,” he said.

“The people who know me and know my character and really rock with me and know who I am, they’re sticking to that and staying true to that and yeah, that’s all I’m going to say about that.”
MMA Fighting later received a report from Kentwood police detailing the nature of the altercation.
They wrote that Hill had an agreement for James and his wife to clean Jamahal’s house for $300 (£250), which was left empty and without electricity, causing the food to spoil. The argument started at 7pm ‘over cleaning the house’ and ‘other family matters’ before – according to the alleged victim – Hill ‘took off his shirt and got in his face’. The alleged victim then said he was knocked to the ground.
The police report added that James said he got back up when his wife tried to stand between the couple, before Jamahal “reached out and punched James in the face again, causing him to fall and become dazed.”
According to TMZ Sports, Hill was offered a deal last month that included the option to plead guilty to a lesser charge of domestic violence in exchange for the aggravated domestic violence charge being dropped. It is not yet known whether Hill has accepted the bargain.
The incident hasn’t stopped Hill from finding a way back into his career after being sidelined from the competition with a torn Achilles tendon he suffered playing basketball, allegedly in a match with other fighters.
What condition Hill will be in when he returns to action on the biggest stage remains to be seen, although some fans have been making fun of his physique in recent videos he has shared online.

In one, he demonstrated a tongue-in-cheek look at the different approaches fighters take when announced, including ‘stretching’, ‘The holla back’ and ‘the shadow boxer’.
One fan wrote: ‘I hope my husband can arrive this weekend!’ Another added: “Bro, you gotta get rid of that belly you’re fighting next week.”
And another cruelly commented: ‘Maybe they can’t wrap the belt around that belly.’
Hill and his other half Byerly collaborate on a combat-based podcast called ‘War Council’ and she has previously outlined her career experiences in explosive detail.
Last year she wrote: ‘As far as my career is concerned, I have endured fashion, which is considered the most unforgiving industry. I survived show business, a cutthroat, secretly perverse world full of power moves.

The former model described her career experiences in explosive detail on their podcast
“I’ve been targeted for sex trafficking, had my career dangled in front of me, been criticized from top to bottom, and sat in corporate chambers with heavy hitters who could buy my life at a moment’s notice.
“Celebrities, multi-millionaires, producers, organized crime leaders, exclusive parties, the things you see in movies, I’ve seen in real life.”
She continued, “Personal life: I have experienced death, murder, home invasions, assault, street crime, divorce, being broke and betrayal. Don’t be fooled by the schoolgirl curls and modeling photos. This is a game I can play very well. You’re sadly mistaken if you think I can’t handle myself in this fighting game or sports entertainment. I’ve spent most of my life strategizing and fighting.’
Hill, often paired with Byerly, has a better understanding of self-promotion than many fighters in the UFC and will be desperate to make the most of an unprecedented opportunity for fame this weekend.

With six mouths to feed, there’s also clearly a financial benefit to headlining such a prestigious card.
His life outside the cage, especially over the past twelve months, seemed complex and distracting from the outside.
But if he can block out the noise and silence the online critics, he will elevate himself into a stratosphere of stardom with the final say at UFC 300.
