UFC star Ian Garry hosts open workout in an Irish pub ahead of his fight with Neil Magny… as fans flock to watch the rising welterweight prior to UFC 292

Ian Garry has made the new decision to host an open training session in an Irish pub as he prepares for Neil Magny on Saturday night.

The Irish UFC star was seen raising his arms to a crowd outside the pub, completing some filler work inside as fans gathered around him.

Garry has emerged as one of the welterweight division’s rising stats in recent years and is currently undefeated after 12 MMA fights.

He last played against Daniel Rodriguez in May, when he defeated the American by knockout in the first round.

The 25-year-old was originally supposed to fight Geoff Neal on Saturday, but was forced to pull out through injury, leaving Garry with the fight he was looking for in the first place.

“I want you next and I’m going to knock you out and take my throne in the top ten and fight my way through my six-fight streak to get that belt!”

Magny, who is two places ahead of Garry in 11th in the division, has fulfilled the Irishman’s wish by fighting him at UFC 292.

Saturday’s card features two title fights in the main and co-main events, but the undefeated Irishman still believes he’s the biggest draw.

He told the MMA hours: “I believe I carry this 292 card on my back, and if it wasn’t for me, this card would disappear.

“With the change of opponents and everything, at the end of the day, I’m just glad the fans are seeing me because I know there are a lot of Irish and Brazilian supporters in Boston that are excited to have me there. I’m glad the fans can see me live in action.

‘I’m Irish. I fight in Boston. They have a huge Irish contingent. I’ve just been in Brazil for the past two and a half months, (and) the largest contingent of Brazilians are in Massachusetts and Boston.

“This is the stage, the platform where I go in, and you say it, you have people like Sean O’Malley and Aljamain and all these guys, that I’m the superstar on the map.”
