UFC president Dana White hits back at reporter for question about Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Holland
‘Want to just start here?’: UFC President Dana White brutally hits back at reporter for questioning about an altercation between Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Holland… after the welterweights clashed at a Miami hotel
- UFC President Dana White didn’t hold back when she responded to a reporter
- A question was asked about a recent altercation between Masvidal and Holland
- White quickly closed the discussion and told the reporter to stop
UFC President Dana White quickly closed a question about an altercation between Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Holland during the UFC 287 press conference.
White’s organization heads back to Miami this weekend to host the middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira at the Kaseya Center.
And in the run-up to the event, there was more drama than expected when Masvidal and Holland clashed in the hunter’s hotel.
The incident was caught on camera as Masvidal, who is scheduled to fight fifth-seeded welterweight Gilbert Burns as a co-main event, was stopped by security.
Holland, who faces Santiago Ponzinibbio, was also restrained by staff before throwing verbal punches with Masvidal at the press conference the next day.

When asked about the altercation, Masvidal said, “Absolutely nothing. There’s nothing to talk about there. Just drive some d***, clout after b****. There’s nothing to talk about.’
Holland quickly shot back: “You didn’t say that yesterday. Watch your goddamn mouth.’
White seemed visibly frustrated by the first question, but remained silent until a follow-up question was asked, then he hit back at the reporter.
“Guys, come on, these two aren’t even fighting,” White said. ‘Stop that. Do you have a question about the fight these guys are fighting or just want to start here? What’s your question?’
The crowd responded audibly to White’s quick telling to the reporter, before moving on to another question.
Elsewhere in the press conference, White was met with boos from his own fighters after discussing the scheduled fight between Colby Covington and Leon Edwards.
In recent weeks, White has been adamant that Covington will earn the next title against Birmingham fighter Edwards, despite his inactivity in recent years.

“Listen, Colby Covington, like him or not, the guy showed up in London, he lost weight, he did what he had to do,” White said. “He deserves the fight against Leon.
“There’s no doubt, we’ll see how this fight plays out on Saturday night, and best case scenario one of these guys is next.”
Masvidal, who many have suggested should fight Edwards, said, “Boo! When is the last time [Colby] anyone ready? I know Dana likes action.”
Masvidal and Edwards clashed backstage at a UFC London event in 2019, leading fans to talk about a possible title fight between them.
